Yay for capping Accuracy part of the time on mobs so weak they LITERALLY hurl themselves fleshy-bits first onto your weapons, begging to be torn asunder?

My War has been stripped of a lot of things, Rajas, my lolhollow, Berk +1, but bear with me for a sec.

    69+20 Base Dex, 66~ Acc
    292 Skill, 282~ Acc

PCC, Hauby, Ulth/Ecph (Shhh, it's cheap, has no -stats, and I keep hitting 99% TP)
    Swift, Haidate

    31 Acc from gear.

389 Acc just standing around picking my nose on War/Nin.
    414 Acc for 3:00 / 4:30 from Aggressor.
(394 Acc if I ever rank up and pick up a Perdu voulge.
400 with Toreador x2 and Perdu, 408 with Cuchs, 415 with Aurum bewts, 418 with Berk +1, 420~421 with Askar head, 429 with Assault/Bomblet, 434 Ebody, 449 Bravura, 474 with all that and Aggressor up)

I don't cap Acc on anything worth worrying about, the implications being that Greater Colibri are not that big a deal.

Errant will be more useful most of the time. 8 INT is already roughly 4 MABs and you also get M ACC from those. I guess Yigit is fine for exp mobs and below.

Errant, and it's more obvious for for ice nuke ; the difference is not big though, but you get little accuracy with INT so it helps.

    RDM merits...

    Slow 2 = 5
    Paralyza 2 = 3
    Dia 3 = 1
    Phalanx 2 = 1

1 Dia 3 seems not to be worth it and I have been thinking of getting rid of Phalanx 2 and do 2 Dia 3 instead, but now my friend said I should get rid of Dia 3 and do 2 levels of phalanx 2 instead. >.>! I can't make up my mind now. I don't really have any enhancing skill gears yet besides AF1 pants and could buy the torque just to get my skills up to tier 2.

    Thoughts?

Hope torque is indeed also the best choice for RNG if applicable.

For Perdu, if your hitrate is capped, go Fort torque or Love torque (depending on dDEX and exact hitrate). If it's not capped, you probably should use PCC.

I parsed with a full Usu/Relic MNK at bird camps while I was on Odin that finished with 82% ACC, he was properly geared, I have no clue regarding merits but I would hope someone with a relic would merit themselves accordingly. To say MNK can cap accuracy everywhere is a joke, not even my WAR caps ACC on most things that actually mean something more then a little extra exp or limit points, and my WAR doesn't lack very much.

Edit: Gwylan, I used Fort.Torque just because of stubborness and how long it took me to get it, I realized PCC was better but refused to use that, now that I have Ancient Torque though I'm so tempted to drop my Fort. Torque, but it's just so sexy.

    Heca(+1) or Enkidu's legs?
    Cerberus(+1) or Cuchulains?
    Gorget or lolKubira Beads?

82% with focus means 76% accuracy without focus. I have myself 87% without focus. He has basically 22 accuracy less than me. Accounting that he doesn't use Hades Sainti+1 which I do, that's 13 less accuracy. He doesn't have merits or missing basic accuracy gear somewhere else.

my monk can almost cap accuracy at birds w/o focus, so he was doing something wrong (my thf reaches 88% acc easilly w/o feint or ambush but I am using dusk glove instead of homam I so could get more).

On monk I use full usu Pcc tiphia 2 HQ sniper hollow cuchu and it gives me about 400 acc, which is almost cap on the lower level birds w/o focus.

A full Usu MNK should parse higher than 82%. Gonna assume he has very good, but not perfect gear.

    Let's see:

    200 + .9 * 92 + 36 (Usu) + 4 (Tathlum) + 10 (PCC) + 3 (Minuet) + 5 (Cuchulain's) + (13 + 1 + 1 + 4 + 70) * .5 (DEX) = 384. Capped ACC is 407. He's 23 off, or 11.5% hitrate. That's 83.5% hitrate. Now factoring focus in: Focus caps you, so 2/5 * 95 + 3/5 * 83.5 = 88.1% hitrate. Your guy is doing something wrong.

Edit: Wow, holy fuck, forgot about rings. That's 5% hitrate right there at least. 88.5% hitrate w/o Focus, adding in Focus gives 91.1% hitrate average. Your guy is definitely doing something wrong.

I don't actually know him, pretty sure he's JP with some knowledge of English though. Couple differences in gear that I can point out compared to what you were using. No Cuch Mantle, was using Cerb+1, no PCC was using Faith, not 100% sure but I really don't think he had Tathlum pretty sure he was using Tiphia, can't remember earrings/rings. This was going off memory too, I still have the saved parse but I'm pretty sure I'm right on his ACC because it stuck out like a sore thumb as I was /shocked.

I was wrong on the parse %'s too, I have 2 parses because someone left and I always start over when they do. 1 parse has him at 76% and one has him at 79%. WS avergaes were 741 and 677, didn't notice his WS gear though.

Either do more Phalanx II or get rid of it. Level 2 you'll match Refresh duration, level 3 you'll match Haste. Makes it easier to cycle. At level 5, it actually is better than Phalanx at lower levels of skill, and lasts a while.
IMO, should do at least level 3, probably level 5 of Phalanx II if you're going for it.

Dia III is usable in merit with only one upgrade (I mean, most good parties mobs have an approximate lifespan of 30 seconds or less). I would say to at least keep the one point in it, and consider a second. 60 seconds should be sufficient for zergs as well, and give you ample coverage for merit mobs.

While Slow II is very good, IMO, easing it back to level 3 to make room for other upgrades wouldn't be terrible. Main thing is losing a little MAcc, as the actual effect is going to be very marginally different.

I have 5/5 Phalanx II, 3/5 Slow II, 2/5 Paralyze II myself. I've considered trading out Para II for Dia III, but I've got plenty of merits to do for other jobs first =P

A lot of Cat IIs depends on what you personally would find useful though. If you're never in the tank party for things like Dynamis, then Phalanx II does you little good. If you do a lot of HNM, then having the higher levels of Slow/Para II for the MAcc is probably preferable. If RDM is your main merit job, then Dia III should be a given, and so on.

For THF in pretty decent gear.
What's the best buyable offhand, assuming Blau main hand, while I work on getting Sirocco or PHarpe? Stylet? Mis+1?

Alternatively, is there a better main than Blau? (besides relic)

Mis+1 is a nice offhand, for main hand p.harpe and X (fuuuuuu uuuu requiem of sin) are good choices.
