Fill up mp in Aslan (5 mnd 20 mp)
Stoneskin, Blink (49 mp)
Nuke in Gleeman's (5int -20 mp)
???
Profit!

Black Cuisses increases duration of Absorb spells so its pretty useless on Absorb-TP(on anything serious you'd also want accuracy anyway). For the rest of the absorb spells you can use Cuisses if you are confident on your magic accuracy(not like you'll bother with them anyways).
Drain and Aspir don't belong to the "Absorb" category so, no. Use Abyss for them.
MAX MP isn't a stat I would really worry about but it has some uses. Idea is to dump the extra MP on buffs and switch to your initial/other situational equipment. Especially useful when soloing tougher mobs.Originally Posted by Some People
Terror Shield is better w/ higher enmity and HP on it(in general, end game situations), but you wouldn't really lose too much if you use Koenig instead. A million+ gil can be spent better elsewhere depending on your equipment and job priorities.Originally Posted by AlexRuhzyo

My example of sniper ring +1 was just a saying and not exact comparison. And my point was about marginal increase vs price, not MP vs ACC. I don't agree that 40 mp only helps when you rest full. 40 mp is 40 mp and is half the merits you can put on for all MPs combined. To me that's a lot. 40 mp allows you to cast or recast a buff or two, 40 mp is enough for you to toss another sleep 2 when you need to before you have to rest, 40 mp can be use for aspir which in turn you get a lot more mp back, 40 can be used to drain, to stun, and to do a lot other things. 40 mp can even be used to cast tier 1 spell (lol). If what acc really does at the end is adding dmg, 40 mp as tier 1 spell sure does the same thing in this case.
Anyway, what I said on my first post was Ixion cape is much better than Gleeman's because of the MP difference and that's "a fact" based on the stats on both pieces. I didn't even say "don't get gleeman's, it sucks". I said if you or anyone have/has RDM too then gleeman's is nice since RDM can't not wear Ixion cape. I heard it you have never run out of MP, but I'm not talking to you alone. I'm talking to any BLMs out there. If you have the gil and only have blm or blm is your main main and omg you are so crazy about it then go for Ixion and save some ampoules for other items.
The -2 Enmity is a pretty big deal too. -5VIT on Gleeman's will also equate to a big deal.
Ixion is the best cape for BLM since not only does it have 5 INT on it and 20 MP but also 5 MND for Stoneskin, but it is in no way needed or necessary, and honestly any BLM can live with using Gleeman's and Aslan (really only if you need it for Stoneskin, otherwise, don't waste the inventory) appropriately. I've had Ixion Cape for a while (way before I started Einherjar regularly) and recently got Aslan Cape, and the reason I got one was because VIT- hurts Cures on WHM... and for my eventual RDM (bigger reason) and SCH. Don't own Gleeman's but it's next, and I'd use that for nuking on RDM and SCH. I value the inventory more on BLM and Ixion is in favor in that case (I actually use it on bard too for stoneskin currently, but I could do the same thing with Aslan Cape np). Yes, one can easily say "satchel makes that not an issue", but I like having my main inventory cleaner.
But as I said it is in no way necessary to own an Ixion Cape for BLM. It has its perks over Gleeman's, but not something worth what it currently is, especially if you actively do Einherjar.
For Octave Club build;
Frenzy Sallet vs. Patroclus's Helm
Disregarding the rarity, Sallet would offer 2% haste at the cost of 99 HP every tick which should be drained back easily?
No.
Blood Weapon is used to drain back the additional damage effect that souleater causes by draining a percentage of HP every hit, the hp lost from frenzy would not be drained back, and is not a good idea at all considering the damage from BW/SE comes from HP. Like poster above me, just no.
Just finished the Ares's Cuirass set today. Aside from Pentathrust, what situations would using the full set be the best option? Don't have N. Head yet, but pretty much everything else that I should. I have all jobs that can use it at 75 and fairly well geared.
Jump.
Guillotine.
Non-2hr King's Justice while Bergressor is down.
Various pieces are excellent for Pld TP in various builds, Mask shines for many situations as Pld suffers on Acc/Att in some fights.
I'd mix and match the pieces for all sorts of other stuff, steel cyclone, non-dusk gear/kited fight gear, legs for everything, body for refresh, full set for posing in town.
Sorry, I meant War/Drg jumps.
I War/Drg a lot for fun, and would totally swap in ares for it.
I know it was mentioned in the What's this thing do? Latents/Triggers thread awhile back but has anyone backed up the claim yet with testing?
Last I heard the consensus was that AF boots only work with regular Jump, not High Jump. As it stands, I still need another sheet of Cobalt Mythril before I can upgrade the boots, so I think I will put full Ares on my Jump macro for the time being; I'll still use the Wyrm Brais on High Jump.
Ancient Torque/Pcharm vs. Faith Torque for TP only.
Depends on merits and I am assuming you are talking about MNK.
0/8 h2h (276 base skill): Faith Torque
1/8 h2h (278 base skill): Faith Torque
2/8 h2h (280 base skill): Faith Torque
3/8 h2h (282 base skill): PCC+
4/8 h2h (284 base skill): Faith Torque
5/8 h2h (286 base skill): Faith Torque
6/8 h2h (288 base skill): Faith Torque
7/8 h2h (290 base skill): Faith Torque
8/8 h2h (292 base skill): PCC+
Where Ancient Torque > PCC.
Ancient torque on low accurancy stuff, Faith otherwise. Also depends of the rest of your setup and the food you use.
Well, you should be aiming to eat meat in most cases, and if you're not getting a base D upgrade from the h2h skill, then you're looking at;
6.3acc/7atk vs 10acc (PCC; Ancient Torque is even better)
which is roughly 4acc vs 7atk, accuracy obviously winning here.
faith torque during focus, pcc other wise.
