Whats better?

Yeah, Are's > Relic > Whatever for 2hred WS.

So, just got out of a meripo, Mnk, Mnk, Nin, Me (War/Sam), Brd, Rdm, Minuet/Madrigal, Nyzul Birds.

Brd was parsing for me, out of 94 fights I got a 1011 WS Avg (would be higher if more specifically avoided WSing very low mobs, but it happens so meh) and 14.8% Crit rate.

Rampager | Pole Strap | _ | Bomb Core
Uni cap | Snow Gorget | Brutal | lolHollow
Hauberk +1 | Nhands | Flame | Rajas
Forager's | Warwolf | Haidate | Nfeet

Figure Min/Min + 3 melee Party letting me be able to gauge when a mob would have too little life to take a full hit WS would just raise that, 2hr wasn't used, and you see why I'm happy with my Rampager.

Wouldn't Sea gorget beat out Faith?

Depending on the mobs you're fighting, you should be at capped Acc, so Usu should win, things like Lurkers where you're not going to cap acc, Haidate +1 ftw.

Hi, Gorgets were recently proven to give Accuracy to all hits.

You may have missed this, that's understandable.

Basically a Gorget is now a PCC that gives a 0.1 fTP boost on the first hit, which usually gives a flat 30 or more damage to the first hit in a WS.

4 Acc + 30ish damage on first hit, vs 7 Attack which is unlikely to add 30 damage across all the hits.

One of the toughest gear questions because of dex being double dipped. I usually use Breeze though with the idea that stacking the most dmg you can onto your critical, first hit outweighs the torque bonus. This is in regards to DE though, SA+SB I go with the torque full time.

Isn't the general "rule" to aim for 320ish Elemental Skill and 120ish int on high level mobs? Think I remember reading that on the thread in Advanced about Helix spells

Also, I meant to say Rajas & Haidate+1 but I ended up working out the Store TP on my own and didn't need it after all.

Altho I'm not a MNK, I always recall reading that for MNK +Skill was very important to their ws's because it works different for H2H then it does any other weapon. So I think for MNK that +7 Skill actually equals out to more then just acc & att when compared to other melee skill, wether or not the Torque outweighs the strenghts from the Gorget or not I'm not sure.

Edit: Furion I'm pretty sure the boosts from the Gorget outweighs the 7 att and 5 Vit modifier from torque. I stick with Gorget full time for Steel Cyclone.

5 Vit for 50% mod, 7 Skill for 6.3~ Acc and 7 Att

3.00 > 3.10 bump on the main hit+10 Acc roughly.

I know the 1.75~1.85 bump from gorget for 100 (200%) TP Mbhuj Steels is awesome, and noticeable as hell, with all the high multipliers, and mods from WS, I'd still say the 3.1 multiplier is going to do more than adding a smidgen of pDif, and what, maybe 1 WS mod dmg before a 3.0 multiplier.

100 x 3.0 = 300
101 x 3.0 = 301
100 x 3.1 = 310

Basically you'd have to add enough Str and Vit to give more than 3 Dmg from WS mod/fSTR

Not sure how much that would take, but I believe it would be more than 5 Str AND Vit to achieve that effect.

What you can glean from this is, the higher your WS Ftp mods and the higher your WS stat Mods are, the closer you get to finding better alternatives.

Lower fTP mods get such a HUGE boost by comparison, that it is just silly to use anything else in your neck slot at this point.

Torques rule for TP, Gorgets rule for WS, unless you've got a Love and are factoring an SA/TA DE or whatnot, which most likely can destroy the boost given by the gorget because of the direct damage whallop of 5 Dex being added on.



The reply just above, that is refering to Monk HTH base damage being based on Skill, and is irrelevant, because Monk can't reach 300 HTH, the next base damage plateau.

Having 292 Skill during WS with a Flame/Soil gorget on, and 299 during Tp with Faith torque on still has the same base damage, it just gives acc/att during TP which makes it sexy.
