How much acc do I need to be hitting before mirke is beaten by nin af NQ? How much before Hq beats it? It seems to boil down to 13 acc vs 2% dual weild. Ill make an ffxigear of what i currently have if that helps.
30% DW from traits, 5% suppa = 35%, 3% on either body = 38%, increase from chainmail brings it to 40
2/62 = 3.2% increase in damage
5 STR = 1.25% fSTR, assuming you're around 40 base damage 41.25/40 = 3.125% increase in damage
2.5 attack at 2 pdif 400 def = 0.31% increase in damage
That's before even looking at the accuracy from Mirke's additional DEX or the possible second augment. If using ninja chainmail over mirke doesn't increase your #/swings to 100 tp(too lazy to check, pretty sure it doesn't in most situations), that's also 3.2% damage from WS. However, at even 94% acc you get 1.06% more damage from tp for a total of 4.495% from tp and 1.06% from ws vs 3.2% from both. That boils down to 1.295% damage from tp vs 2.14% damage from WS, which should usually favor the damage from tp. If you have mirke, you should always be using it unless acc capped :X
Assuming you have a Suppa, that extra 2% DW is always gonna be an improvement of 38% => 40%, so 2/62 = 3.2% DoT damage... 3.2% WS frequency also ONLY if TP/hit remains unchanged.
Since that is static, and both accuracy and dual wield (assuming tp/hit remains constant) increase DoT damage and WS frequency by the same amount, you can work your accuracy question out quite nicely.
Assuming 13acc caps you exactly,
13acc = 6.5% acc
6.5 / (95 - 6.5) = 7.3% DoT/WS
So your accuracy must be higher than 88.5% AT LEAST for the 2% DW to win...
So basically,
x / (95 - x) = 0.032 [3.2%], solve x and any higher accuracy than that favours the 2% DW.
x = 0.032(95 - x)
x = 3.04 - 0.032x
1.032x = 3.04
x = 3.04/1.032
x = 2.94% accuracy gained.
Using 6acc and 5acc effective,
3 / (95 - 3) = 3.2% DoT/WS
2.5 / (95 - 2.5) = 2.7% DoT/WS <= HERE IS THE POINT
tl;dr:
Accuracy must be greater than 92.5% without the body for 2% DW to outdo the 13acc.
This result is the same for both HQ and NQ chainmail because for 2% DW to outdo x accuracy difference, x must effectively be 5 or less. Since the difference will always be 10 or greater, NQ or HQ, the same percentage of 92.5% holds true.
Feel free to correct me if my math is drastically wrong~
Was a major error I noticed after posting, numbers corrected
EDIT AGAIN: Thorny's answer is more thorough, I dealt purely with acc vs DW% and gave you the accuracy figure you were looking for. His is a more precise overall damage increase analysis.
Your math IS drastically wrong. You did dual wield in reverse, since it's a delay reduction you need to compare 62% remaining delay to 60% ;s Additionally, HQ has additional DEX not that it matters, and you can't overlook fSTR because it does make a decent difference.
That's what I was afraid of. 'Ill have to check vs some colibri with my new cuch mantle and my usual crab sushi spam but so far it looks like I'm stuck with that ugly as shit mirke on everything but puks.
hmm taking into account that my last parse didnt have my cuch mantle i think i just skimmed myself half a percent over the bare minimum to wear af body.
Of course I wasn't factoring in 5STR~ in reality there is little place for AF or AF+1 body with a Mirke.
EDIT: Realised that's a little vague... basically, just use Mirke. It's going to be seldom beaten.
K, need some input on my Drakesbane build
Option one: heavy dex build
Thalassocrat/Claymore grip/---/WhiteThallum
Heca-cap/?????/Brutal/Hollow
Zahak'sMail/Heca-mitts/Rajas/Thunder
Cuchu/Warwolf/WyrmBrais/Heca-leggings
DRG/SAM, STR 117, DEX 123-128. 7/8 polearm merits.
the neck piece is the big debate for me, do I do light gorget for added punch or love torque to further make sure I cap crit rate.
or should I just go STR heavy? putting me at str123 (only 5 higher really) and dex113-118
crits vs colibri cap at 119 so you're kinda near perfect with the second set for colibri. I'd leave any other relevant info up to the career drgs and math crunchers..

Hecatomb Harness vs Hauberk +1 for WAR RR SC KJ And Rampage
If it matters I have 8Sword/4Great Axe Merits and am 2nd in line for Kitty Pants(Maybe this Sunday)
Hauberk +1 for Raging Rush, Rampage, King's Justice (maybe I use heca). Heca for Steel Cyclone.
Should use Hauberk +1 for any multi-hits for the same reason you use Rajas Ring for them. STR+DEX combo = win.
For multi hit crits haub of some type, but I use Nbody for KJ because I quickmathed it and the 10 Att vs 7 Str didn't fare as well last I checked.
For Cata, 1 Str 4 Att easily, Cata is all about Attack to get good numbers.
