5 attack > 1 fSTR for TP in most cases for many 2H weapons; 5 attack should be about 1-1.25% higher damage except in extremely high attack situations, and for most gaxe/scythe/polearms base damage+other fSTR will break 100.

For non-2H weapons, the fSTR will usually win.

It's never going to be 5 attack higher though
3 str . 75 is 2.25 so going to be 2-3 attack based on your initial stats prior

So, in situations where it does raise your fstr, it's going to be 1 fstr vs 2-3 attack

Going to start leveling SAM soon, and trying to make up my list of what gear I need as I level, so I have one major question:

Once I hit 50, do I just stick with Soboro all the way until Hagun? Should I bother with carrying a normal GK to be able to swap to if the TP from Soboro is getting the tank killed? Similarly, is it worth using polearms against Colibri in the 50s, or does Soboro do more damage than those anyway?

My average on birds is around 1000 for RR and I am not sure if that's good or not. I swear I see other wars avg quite a bit higher than me. I am looking for potential improvement.

My Main question is, will zahak's be a better WS piece than Hauby +1? Or should I use Lightning +1 in place of bomblet? My crit rate is all over the place even for birds.. its between 14-18% @@

Anyways any inputs are appreciated.

What are merits like? 5/5 STR? How are your T1 and T2 merits done? Are you 8/8 GA? Did you have a BRD or COR? Were you getting Minuet/March or March/March? Was the BRD or COR good? or did you have songs/rolls down for periods of time? Do you spam Meat Mithkabobs?

All of those factor in to how your average will turn out to be. Changing PCC to gorget is going to help.

Last time I was at Birds on War I averaged 1120 RR, my RR set up is more STR based(ie Flame Ring > Thunder Ring) and I've never been dissapointed with it. I've been meaning to try a more DEX based one but just haven't had the time recently, and since I've always been satisfied with my results I've never really been tempted enough to change.

Mahatma are better, but you'll be carrying Goliard anyway for INT debuffs(and possibly nuking depending which other feet you own). If you plan on getting morrigan's soon or are strapped for gil, use Goliard. If you want the best, use Mahatma(they also double for a enm- set for curing.. a lot of RDMs overlook the value of a good enm- set).

Snow gorget is really the only upgrade I can think of. I'm sure Max will correct me if i'm wrong but I believe the magic number for dex is 117-118 for raging rush on birds. Getting to that gets effectively to the dex cap and makes the WS go crazy at times (I'd had many 1800-2K+ without WC or MS our gear is basically a match outside a triumph earring and snow gorget). So yea gear around for that 117-118 dex cap (you're over it) keep fire bomblet. As for Zahak's I've personally never tried it but I hate losing out on the 12 acc/attack from haub+1.

1k+ raging rush average is very nice in my experiences. That is if you're parsing and not eyeballing (not being rude just saying)

The crit rate can be a bit screwy at times. Thats why many people advocate for KJ spam pretty much 24/7. Its a much more reliable ws with some exceptional modifiers.

Sorry that I left out some details. Normally when I merit I have only 1 Brd singing Min/March on birds. And very rarely I come across a pickup rdm that'd Dia II the bird, unless I am with LS party.

Atm don't have any merits on attributes and I am having 8 Gaxe, 4/3/3 for the rest since I feel I can always use more Acc for mamools or other harder stuff. And I do spam kabobs for birds as well.

My RR average does comes from parse and i think I'll try to replace Thunder with Flame to try it out. I used to use heca body when I do have brd/cor back line, and it does give me better result than hauby +1 if I am getting drk roll/march/march, but that situation is not too common since most of the time the cor I come across prefer fighter/min/march. I wonder which setup is better?

Lastly, how do you guys actually do war/sam on birds? I find it very annoying to get slept every now and then and have to ask for cure, normally end up doing worse than going as war/nin which is very frustrating.
