lol just realized wrong thread, but oh well
For BLU spells like disseverment/frenetic rip/hysteric barrage etc, which would be better damage with capped blue magic merits for damage spells? Morrigan's Coronal or Mirage Keffiyeh?
Usually go with friends/LS mates, the guy who feels like using Ridill and /Nin gets stuck as first voke. Still plenty of times where voke isn't up and you end up waking the bird with a DA you'll get slept, and it's a piss off but just spam pt chat asking with Cure till the mage does his job
Even without someone /Nin in the pt, so long as the mage is good it's not so bad.
Sam & Penta Thrust
Ancient Torque vs Sea Gorget.
Which is better?
situational question again. so i will cut and paste some answers to ancient vs torque argument
It depends on mobs your fighting etc etc etc, 9 acc + 3 dex is approx 10-11 acc VS 10 acc etc etc etc, however on some mobs if you have no problem with, you should use gorget etc etc etc
haha sorry but thats kinda the truth when it comes to ancient VS torque/gorgets in TP or WS XD
personally, i think gorget is better :X
i'll go for extra 30-50 damage VS possible of 1 acc, penta is not drakesbane, so im leaving the dex/crit aside
It'd be vs colibri only. The only reason I ask, as I am a fan of gorgets is because it does offer more ACC then a gorget, along with Dex being a modifier. I'm not a huge math buff so don't know which would actually perform better with a multi hit like Penta.
Also it's 4 Dex, so would the result not be 12ACC? or is that dependant on what wether your total Dex is odd or even?
fuck me lmao i thought its 3 dex XD
hmmm so its 2 acc 4 dex VS 30-50 damage
i myself will take the latter, since i doubt 4 dex mod can outdo 30-50 damage
but someone will say go for 2 extra acc im sure, and honestly, theres nothing wrong too XD
tough choice haha
Probably torque ( 12 acc).. but... It's relatively easy to cap accuracy during WS on birds, WITH love torque, so love torque wins anyway. It's easy to find acuracy gears in almost every slots except cuchulain's mantle: tiphia sting (+2) lightning bow +1 ( can give +3), O.hat (+10), Love torque( +9-10), hollow/fowling...( +3-4), usukane body(+ 18 ) hauby+1 ( +16-17), usukane or noritsune gote (+10), sniper ( +5-7), life belt(+10), byakko's haidate (+11-12), usukane feet (+7). Should really cap you w/o A.torque.
AF2 gives you +2 base damage all of the time, and whatever increase in "BLU Attack" 5 skill grants.
Orc Helm increases fSTR by +1 50% of the time and by +2 50% of the time. On Frenetic Rip and Disseverment it increases WSC by +2 about 66% of the time, and by +1 about 34% of the time. On Hysteric Barrage it increases WSC by 0 about 13.2% of the time, by 2 about 13.6% of the time, and by 1 about 73.2% of the time.
Obviously I'm taking some liberties when I speak of the %s here, by assuming that the VITs of the mobs you fight are evenly distributed mod 4 (I think this is acceptable), and that your STR and DEX isn't fixed (by which I mean, the WSC component is as always independent of the target, so should read here and below "for X% of players" rather than "X% of the time" for an individual player).
Let me see if I can make this look reasonably coherent using a list.
- Mirage (Assuming Merits and AF body)
- Frenetic Rip, Hysteric Barrage, and Disseverment
- Non-CA
- Base Damage +2, 100.0% of the time
- With CA (or AL)
- Base Damage +2, 100.0% of the time
- Gnadbhod
- Frenetic Rip and Disseverment
- Non-CA
- Base Damage +2, 17.0% of the time
- Base Damage +3, 50.0% of the time
- Base Damage +4, 33.0% of the time
- With CA (or AL)
- Base Damage +3, 17.0% of the time
- Base Damage +4, 17.0% of the time
- Base Damage +5, 33.0% of the time
- Base Damage +6, 33.0% of the time
- Hysteric Barrage
- Non-CA
- Base Damage +1, 6.6% of the time
- Base Damage +2, 43.2% of the time
- Base Damage +3, 43.4% of the time
- Base Damage +4, 6.8% of the time
- With CA (or AL)
- Base Damage +1, 6.6% of the time
- Base Damage +2, 6.6% of the time
- Base Damage +3, 36.6% of the time
- Base Damage +4, 36.6% of the time
- Base Damage +5, 6.8% of the time
- Base Damage +6, 6.8% of the time
Having gone through this now, I need to correct myself in a thread a few months back where I suggested that Mirage and Orc Helm were essentially equivalent except on CA, this is clearly not the case unless there is more to Blue Magic Skill's effect on BLU physical than is already understood. Maat's Cap will obviously be even better.
Trick Attack + Shark Bite/Mandalic Stab,
Point for point, DEX or AGI? (Thunder/Rajas or Breeze/Breeze?)
Thanks
agi is essentially a 100%(115% if you have af+1 gloves) mod on trick attack while Stab has 30% dex mod. For stab agi would technically be better.
Sharkbite traditionally gains alot more from dex than agi on TAWS due to the mod being higher in combination with the fact that it has more than one hit. So it comes down to a 100% mod on one hit vs a 50% mod on multiple hits so after you factor in the extra offhand hit if /nin dex will beat agi by more and more for each extra hit the ws adds.
BRD: 6 CHR or 5 singing skill?
(waist btw gleeman vs song belt)
you mean the belt that's only active when /brd?
yep I'm a dummy nevermind.
Going through AH trying to tweek the brd a l'il and saw that and wondered how I missed it but now I realize how...
So short answer, /Nin, use Thunder/Rajas/Warwolf/Delta over Breeze/Breeze/Scouter's/Suppa?
I'm assuming then Dex > Agi in general for DE aswell, lower DEX mod, but much more hits.
Thanks again.
Edit: Another quick one, for Dancing Edge. I'm basically down to Flame+Rutters vs Thunder+Enkidu's. Basically translates as 8Dex 4Acc vs 8Str 5Att. I'm 8/8 Dagger if it helps. Not that I ever get to merit Thf, but mamools would be pizza and should be at/around acc cap, and birds... not sure, been so long I don't know if I'd spam kabobs or crab. Think I'ma go Thunder+Rutters for now. Thunder+Heca eventually I guess?
But while your here 3 wind skill.
if i got 3 mag acc in that slot it would be a wash right?
if so i could swap out a nereid for an omega and be ahead.
This is pretty much true; also have to remember that this is strictly speaking TAMandalic, as soon as you throw in SA or SATA, DEX is gonna be superior.
AGI added will only be multiplied by pdif and not fTP, which isn't such an issue on Mandalic Stab since most of its damage comes from an elevated pdif, but on Shark Bite the fTP is hefty (2~3+) so combined with a 50% DEX mod, you're always gonna want DEX generally. Hybrid Pieces like Denali Kecks have a place in a TASharkBite build.
