Would be interesting to test full usu with sword strap. I've never seen a post about it.

Actually what about in mis match using usu body instead of hauby+1 and using sword strap? I'm not sure how that 3% weapon delay is calculated with haste.

    Hagun/Swordstrap/Nothing/Blacktalthum
    Ace's/Ancient/Wyvern/Brutal
    Usu/dusk+1/raja/acc ring
    Cuch/V. belt/Haidate/Usu

    That's enough STP and 26% haste /drg.

Question about my standard TP set up. I'm 8/8 GS and Scythe merits, so would it be more beneficial for me to use tor/blitz or tor/tor (those are tors, not snips).

Also, for my back piece on GSD WS, cerb, cuch, or smil+1? I'm still a little confused about that.

I've had horrible luck with Nag, so it's only Algol right now if you're wondering about that. Either can't get it to drop, or I lose lot.

I mix it up with Scythe and GS a lot, so you can save the "Scythe or gtfo," comments, lol.

Please point out anything else I'm doing wrong. Been out the loop for a while.

it's calculated separately from haste, like dualwield. If you have say 55% haste and sword strap, your new delay is 450*0.45*0.97. So at 55% base haste for example, sword strap is equivalent to 1.3% haste (45*0.03=1.35).

With GS, I don't see how you'd keep up any respectable parse. Without carbonara, you can't realistically get 6 hit with Algol, and that puts birds out of the question. You'd be sitting on 397 acc with the setup I proposed. At MMJ, you'd need Madrigal to get above 92% on Skoffins, and forget NINs and THFs. Backpiece, Smilo+1 for Spinning Slash, Cuch's for multihit, right?

Hmmmm... So on paper is -3% weapon delay superior to double attack at that point then if you can retain a 6hit build? I'm sure someone has had to test or done it on paper in comparison to pole strap.

Actually, I found a calculator for sTP. With chiv chain that's a 6-hit build using algol. Realistically I only needed 1 piece of gear...

At MMJ I use abs-acc, so that's off as well. (Yeah, some drks do that)

To think I couldn't put up a respectable parse is ignorance. You also made the assumption that I'm only talking about merits, and that I only use GS, which I specifically said I mix it up with Scythe.

I also asked about the back piece for GS WS. Those are single hit, so why even mention multi-hit? The reason I'm unsure about cerb vs Smil is b/c of the att. In another thread there was a comparison of heca vs ares's for spinning slash. The math pros pointed out that the att from ares's would significantly increase the damage. So I was wondering if the att trumps the 2str from smil+1.

    Why did you even respond?

    O. kote vs. af+1 hands for (daytime) kamu, assuming no ap buffs except potentially meat/pizza.

    off-the-wall ninja questions

    ninjutsu:
sangoma lappa (int+6) vs denali kecks (macc+3 mab+3)
i'm led to believe the sangoma lappa will win.

    throwing:
    koga chainmail (racc+8 ratt+8 ) vs war shinobi gi (skill+10 agi+2)
(and consider war shinobi gi +1, skill+12 agi+3)
i tend to think the war shinobi gi/+1 will win.

In the Y/G/K att bonus thread it was posted that Spinning Slash gets a 1.5x att bonus, and Ground Strike 1.66x. These are smaller than the Gekko bonus, and the STR mods on those WS are also smaller, but I would still expect the att bonus to make Smilodon attractive.

I was wondering about this but I've stuck to Forager's. I Don't use DRK enough to care but would love to know what would be better.

The accuracy should be similar for both, but 6 int will easily beat out 3 mab for nin nukes.

Does anyone know if hard math has been done on a samurai running a shogun rice ball dbl attack set up? If we can assume ace's helm, haidate, and a speed belt, you're looking at 15% haste + hasso, and then pole grip + askar body + nobushi kyahan + myochin kote + shogun rice ball. In theory, +10 double attack, 100atk, no +str though

In extension, if one were to do this in a merit party, would macro'ing in a roshi jinpachi for another 50atk and 5dbl atk be more worthwhile than the strength from a wyvern helm or the str/acc from ace's (not that i need the 7acc vs birds, just puttin it out there)

    Gist of post:
    1) shogun ball set up (nobushi, not roshi) versus normal 6hit+haste set.
    2) roshi jinpachi on WS assuming the shogun rice ball set up was in effect (this would mean WS'ing in myochin kote+1, nobushi kyahan, and roshi jinpachi)

You can already get +100 attack quite easily from rabbit pie, but chances are unless you are fighting birds or puks your accuracy isn't capped anyway so pizza is the better option.

10% double attack isn't going to even come close 6% haste, 7 accuracy and 13 attack you would sacrifice from giving up Dusk gloves +1 and usukane sune-ate (I'm assuming you are talking in ideals based on your post).

There is no reason to use shogun rice balls ever, even if you used rana which will actually benefit from the attack boost. Pizza + normal 6 hit is going to win every time unless you have a relic + several pieces of usukane or are fighting birds.

Thanks. It wasn't so much the 100 atk I was concerned with, it was the 10% dbl atk vs 6% haste from dusk+usu. Kind of figured haste would win, but 10% sounds like such a big number
