For Bard:
Balrahn's Ring(Macc+4) or Nenreid Ring(Windskill +3)
Astute Cape(Signing +5) or Jester Cape +1 (CHR+10)
Yeah not really use to "skill vs acc vs attribbute" debate. If someone can show me a guide, that'll be sweet.
I'd use Balrahn's if I had it (ideally paired with Omega), but I took Jalzahn's for COR, so...
I normally use Astute Cape, but it can depend on what you're using in other slots. I feel I have enough CHR elsewhere (+42 without counting rings/staves) that I use Astute Cape (and for that matter, Staff Strap). I aim for between 100 and 110 CHR, which seems fine. In Salvage, if I get back/waist unlocked early, especially before CHR unlock, I will go for Jester's +1 (or Cheviot!) /NIN, too, sees the Jester's usually.
As for CHR vs skill...basically I think most people aim for "enough" CHR and then as much skill as they can get. I normally look at what's available for a slot, and prefer +skill, but will sacrifice that for a large amount of CHR (or m.acc). So Marduk pants win over AF+1, and Marduk body (or even AF+1/osode/errant) wins over Minstrel's Coat, but I like Astute over Jester's +1. This is all for debuffs, of course. For buffs, Minuet IV needs +12 skill, and Blade Madrigal and Victory March both have various tiers you can try to hit. I don't know of any other buffs that aren't capped at 75; mambo might be one, but I'm not sure anyone cares.
both, +Macc and CHR = Elegy/Threnody/etcOriginally Posted by Bloomonkey

That. For debuffing I kind of take whichever I can get the biggest chunk of, since skill vs. CHR on debuffs is still far up in the air. The way that music skills work would leave me to believe that +5 is not that big a boost, while +10 CHR or a straight MAcc+ boost is pretty sizeable. Also Balrahn's is hot sex on a biscuit for Assault/Salvage.Originally Posted by SamanosukeShiva

or NQ staves?
Also how does Magic Accuracy effect ones m. acc. %?
Honestly noone's going to be able to tell you exactly how much MAcc equates into % landing spells, he shit's hard to test. If HQ staves are indeed 15% MAcc those will most likely beat the Alkalurops, but for targets where you could've landed the spell anyways the Alkalurops would be really nice for potency. And aside from that, we won't really know until someone has one and gets to test it out.Originally Posted by Hioki
Avocat Pigaches(3 enfeeb skill) vs Goliard Clogs(4 INT 2 m.acc) overall on RDM, I only have inventory space for one of them(though I own both).
Edit: to be clear, not throwing one out, just don't have space to carry it in my standard solo gear
If it's for soloing, you've probably got all the enfeebling skill, magic accuracy, and INT you need naked with 0 merits. If it really has to be one of them though, I'd say the Goliard is definitely better, for the +4 DEX, +4 MND, and +5 Evasion.Originally Posted by Thorny
EDIT: The Goliards are probably better for non-solo play too, since you'll have enough +skill from AF body, torque, etc. for most things, anyways.
Unless you for some reason are really hard up for the Enmity-3, I can't see the new ones being better than Goliards. Goliards are about the best all-around boots you're going to get for RDM.
I only skimmed over this thread, so forgive me if I missed this in a previous post and/or thread:
Been leveling ninja and have most of the essential stuff I'd say for 75 (69atm). I'm wondering if perdu blade or fudo is a better off hand katana. Main-handing Senji, of course. Thanks in advance for any input.
Perdu. 5 acc 10 att is awesome.
Valor surcoat or Ares Cuirass?
Both?Originally Posted by Shonin

IIRC this came up before and that was the answer.
Sorry >< I'll look through the thread next time, I was lazy just posting immediately.
I meant for real soloing, not for meleeing Ts lol.. but was thinking goliard anyway and good to have 2 people confirm. I guess i'll just put avocat away and save them for a epeen skill set or something <__> Solo gear already includes 3 pairs of shoes(goliard, mahatma, dusk). If it's for soloing, you've probably got all the enfeebling skill, magic accuracy, and INT you need naked with 0 merits.
Okotes or NIN AF+1 hands?
For what? TP, WS, throwing, tanking, ninjutsu, around town?Originally Posted by evilpaul
for Jin
What are you eating, what are you fighting, are you getting minuets/madrigals, how is your accuracy, how much total Dex do you WS in, what is your attack in WS gear without either piece, etc, etc, etc?
Generally, if you're pulling meat off somehow, and are swinging a good amount of Str/Dex for Jin, go with the AF +1, for Sushi you'll probably want as many big chunks of attack as you can get, and 20(22) in one slot is a pretty big chunk.
