Oracle's for buffs, either of the other two for debuffs(preferrably Shadow).

Oracle's full time would honestly work fine as well.

Also, is there any good resist body out there for PLD? I don't have access to Ares or wBody
Assault Breastplate. And if you have a good enough Fire build with proper support(Barfira/Carol), that's probably going to win out over the slight MDB boost from Iron Ram. The full Iron Ram set isn't going to give as much resist from the set bonus as just building a full on resist set.
There's also Avalon Breastplate to consider.

posted last night, guess it didn't carry over...

Oily Trousers vs Skadi Chausses for corsair? I have neither at the moment but considering Oily obtainable around the same time it'd probably take to get Skadi, and I'm currently using my "2nd item" as Skadi in salvage for priority. Wondering if I should switch that to something else. Just finished Morrigan's Robe, got no other salvage pieces, and have RDM BLM BLU DRK COR.

I'd probably say Skadi's are better if you use a Melee build to gain TP (i.e. Joytoy + Haste) instead of a Ranged Attack build. This is because the Haste+ won't affect your Ranged Attacks and the Store TP is a bonus. But for Slug/Detonator I think Oily's will be your best bet. So overall its situational and a hard call. But Skadi's + Enkidus might be a good combo.

I'd stick with Skadi. Oily trousers might be a decent piece for Quick Draw on the legs if you're lacking Denali Pants or any other +AGI on the legs, but aside from that, I can't really think of a situation where I'd be inclined to use Oily trousers over Skadi legs.

And yeah, if you want a WS piece, Enkidu's.

So I just bought a Triumph Earring for my NIN WS set.. but now I have an issue...

Fowling Earring (1STR 3ACC) vs Triumph (2STR) for both single and multi hit WS? I'm gonna guess the Fowling is going to help me more in the long run unless I have capped accuracy, cause the extra STR isn't going to help a missed hit. But then again Fowling only adds 3ACC.. which iirc is 1.5% hit rate..

if the 1 extra strength from triumph bumps your fstr up by 1 (this isn't easy to say; about 25% of the time it will, but that's particular to your other gear and is static, it either always will or always won't vs. a particular mob.) then the extra strength is better.

if it doesn't then 3 acc will be better.

What's the next best all round (meaning either TA or SA with either DE, SB or EV) leg piece for THF WS on mobs where neither your atk or acc are capped (iow a balanced piece). Second best, assuming Hecatomb legs is #1. I always assumed Dusk Legs.

Same question for hands assuming Hecatomb Mittens is #1.

nbody, assuming your acc is decent for the mob. don't need the extra atk or dex as much as that str.

Here's a question: WAR TP haste build, 4 possible pieces: E body, Aurum Cuirass, Hachiryu Haramaki, or Shadow Breastplate?

All 4 have their ups and downs. I can hit a 6-hit build with perdu voulge, so I don't necessarily need the extra store TP, so I'd think that Aurum would be inferior to e body. Shadow Breastplate looks nice, but I'm afraid with the lower acc that I won't be getting a high enough hit rate. Hachiryu doesn't have the str/dex either, but it has extra atk/acc and that beautiful crit +5.

Gear (retired war temporarily so some I don't actually have, but will get by the time I need to make this decision):

    Perdu Voulge
    Pole Strap
    Fire Bomblet
    Walahra Turban
    Fortitude Torque
    Brutal Earring
    Assault Earring
    Body piece
    Dusk Gloves
    Rajas Ring
    Blood Ring
    Forager's Cape
    Swift Belt
    Byakko's Haidate
    Dusk Lesdelens

    Ideas? :/

I'd have to say Hauby +1, especially if you are going for a crit + build on RR. Claymore Grip + Haidate + Hecta in all those other slots and you are golden.

Justice Torque - Kinda wtf for G.axe. Did you mean Fortitude Torque?
    Brutal Earring
    Assault Earring
    Body piece
    Dusk Gloves
    Rajas Ring
    Blood Ring
    Forager's Cape
    Swift Belt

Dusk Lesdelens - Replace w/ Aurum Sabatons

I think what it boils down to is availability. The order of difficult for those breastplates is probably going to be from Easiest to Hardest: Aurum < Shadowbreaste plate/ E.body < Hachiryu. All of those are a nice piece of gear just which can you get the soonest. Also what WS are you planning on using or is this primarily for your TP set? If you are using Raging Rush I don't think you can beat E.body. But Shadow might be best for Steel Cyclone. Hachiryu is really up in the air when compared to most of those as it hasn't been obtained and people haven't put it to the test, but I seriously doubt that it will outperform any of those other bodies for WSing. Something to consider additionally might be Askar Korazin as its realtively easy to obtain and the Double Attack +2% would be a nice piece since you seem to like that w/ your choice of grip.

yeah aurum sabatons are probably not happening any time soon, but I do understand that they're superior. and yes I meant fortitude, couldn't remember the name :/

Askar is out of the question as I'm not willing to sacrifice that much acc for some DA. the main thing I'm looking at is loss of acc with aurum and shadow, vs loss of stats with hachi against adaberk

I've looked around a bit for an answer to the question of "Best GKT to 300% with"

in particular looking at Onimaru and Ushikirimaru

only thing I've seen nailed down is a blanket statement that "a 300tp ws, onimaru's gonna come out on top just barely over ushi." This did not satisfy me.

So I went digging into the weaponskill damage function and messing with the numbers...but I dont really feel like understanding the whole pDif portion of the equation at the moment.

What I came up with doing some calculations with 147 total STR (ushi 149) follows:

in situations where you have capped fSTR for both GKT (16 cap on onimaru, 17 on ushi), the WD portion of the weaponskill calculation has Oni at 476 and Ushi at 479.

when fSTR is not capped (assuming ushi's 2str bumps fstr by one, using an arbitrary 12 for oni and 13 for ushi): Onimaru 466, Ushikirimaru 469

and in situations where ushikirimaru's 2str does *not* afford an extra fSTR bump:
capped fSTR: doesnt matter anyway, you're capped.
uncapped (arbitrary 12 fSTR for both weapons): They tied at 466.

These numbers are the WD portion of the WS calculation, but from them it kind-of seems to me that in a situation where fSTR will be capped, ushi will beat onimaru. But in situations where fSTR will *not* be capped it's either a toss up or a win for Onimaru with the 15attk factoring in the pDif.

I guess my end conclusion is that on 'ez stuf' with capped fSTR Ushi will outperform, while on 'rly hard stuf' Onimaru will. amidionirite?

(yes, Hagun in non 300% situations, I know)

    Fudo/Unsho, or Fudo/Fudo for a 71NIN?

    And what about lvl72? Senji/Fudo or Senji/Unsho?

Or something else entirely? (I don't have enough IS for a Perdu Blade yet...)

umm, is there a reason you're not using Sekkanoki and doing 2 WSes that may even chain? Pre-Sekkanoki there was maybe a reason to carry a 2nd GK...now Hagun with 2 WSes (even with the Sekkanoki one being blech) is far better than any other option.
