For SA or SATA WS, N.body or Antares Harness?

    Antares Harness Rare
    [Body] All Races
    DEF:50 HP+15 DEX+8 AGI+8 Accuracy+8 Evasion+8

Need the proof and my numbers are showing the STR from N.body on all hits is better than the DEX and AGI mods on the first hit of DE or Evis. Acc between the two is negligible; just stick with comparing damage.

Dex is a mod for DE, so it applies to the first hit with SA, and all hits, should win out due to the SA hit.

More so for SATA, this has been worked out between DH and Nbody several times, so the better question is, Ant vs Nbody for Unstacked DE, and Ant vs DH for Stacked, 2 Dex 2 Agi 8 Acc vs 10 Att.

working it out again for posterity:

if you're not fstr capped (would depend on target and weapon) 12 str is going to be a WD+3 net per hit. +6 attack (so like, 0.02cRatio or less)

8 dex @30% is going to be WD+2 most of the time, WD+10 on the first hit.

6 hits with 12 str would give you a total of WD+18 vs. no body, 6 hits at 8 dex (inc. SA) should be WD+20. at 8 hits (only possible with a triple attack) the two bodies would functionally tie stacked.

if you don't stack SA, it gets a little more complex because your accuracy won't be the same with both bodies; but briefly: you'll be about 5% more likely to land all six hits with antares harness, but will do more damage per hit landed with nbody. (WD+1 per hit so something like.. 2-3 more damage per hit depending on crit etc.) - I would go for accuracy unless you are already capped. (adding that last 1% hit rate is a boost of 4.5% to hitting all 6 vs hitting 5)

    ==

for antares vs. DH stacked; accuracy shouldn't matter, so the question is whether 10 attack is better than 2 dex and 2 agi - this isn't an easy question since it depends heavily on the target's def, your current attack and whether or not 2 dex actually boosts your WSC. (the latter is easier to calculate but will vary from thief to thief.)

thumb in the air I think DH will be better unless antares boosts your WSC (multiply current dex by 0.3, then see if adding two causes the whole number value to increase; if so, then antares will be better).

antares also makes a plausible (but not ideal) TP body choice with it's gross accuracy of +12. (would be just above SH+1 in continuum of thief TP bodies).

Good solo piece too, with the SH +1 +1 effect going on, due to higher Agi supposedly being better than the commensurate 4 Eva alone.

Also: I was under the impression that SA did not guarantee acc on all hits, only main+offhand, leaving the rest at the whims of your accuracy.

lightning bow+1 if you expect to be pulling; otherwise tiphia sting will (almost) always be better*

black tathlum is best if you can get one.

*3 dex can equal 3 accuracy depending on exactly how much dex you currently have, but it's not likely.

    3 dex can't really be 3 acc it's 2.25 acc and 2 attack > .25 acc I'd say.

    Incorrect.
Somewhere in the formula, there is rounding done (well, flooring).
    For example:
    Floor(3*Dex/4):
    111 Dex : 3*111/4 = 83.25 = 83
    112 Dex : 3*112/4 = 84.0 = 84
    113 Dex : 3*113/4 = 84.75 = 84
    114 Dex : 3*114/4 = 85.5 = 85
    115 Dex : 3*115/4 = 86.25 = 86
    116 Dex : 3*116/4 = 87.0 = 87

This pattern will repeat. If your total dex is a multiple of 4, adding 1 dex adds 0 accuracy. Otherwise, adding 1 dex adds 1 accuracy.

If your total dex is 1 point higher than a multiple of 4, adding 3 dex will add 3 accuracy.

If your base dex is one of those #s, Lightning +1 is likely better between 1 acc vs 2 attack, not losing HP/evasion, and gaining the ability to pull.

Best earrings and strap for use with a Bahamut's Zaghnal (for skillup, not zerg)? Found some data from Tubbers and Ruke on Rune Chopper pre-nerf, suggesting the math for Brutal on Ridill carry over to 2h multihit weapon. Presumably that still applies?

Just got the scythe, and it's hella fun - LS has had several drop recently. Is it still a reasonable zerg option? If so I may level DRK, seems like a very fun job and I've been looking for a new one.

    Thanks.

Unicorn +1 are best IF your HP is always white, however that's not always the case. I prefer Dusk Ledelsens +1 over Unicorn +1 because you can always depend on the haste to be there.

Aurum Sabatons are nice I guess if you need the extra 7.25 accuracy, but really with Gaxe you shouldn't have too much trouble on most exp stuff. Plus they're hideous, not that dusk is that much better, but at least they're not bright gold.

Dusk Ledelsens +1 > Unicorn Boots +1 > Aurum Sabatons > Dusk Ledelsens > Unicorn boots

Whenever I get Aurum's eventually, I'm going to have a double line in my final TP macro for feet, and just give it an extra tap depending on my HP. Strictly, at less than fully buffed haste values, Aurum's 2% and 7+~ Acc is better, but Uni's are so pretty.

Got a signed pair for the sake of having them, so I'd keep them even with Dusk +1, and probably just macro the Uni's in for running around town and such.

Worth noting: With Askar head, Hands, Vbelt, Haidate, and Aurum feet, you have a significant portion of a Dex tier build, while maintaining 19% Haste, making it just a bit easier to hit that 115~118 number range with less sacrifices elsewhere.

    COR Question:

Body slot for Slug Shot for Zerg fights (where Feint is on): Blue Cotehardie +1 (STR+5 AGI+5) vs Denali Jacket: AGI+10 R.Atk +9.

I always had Uni's too, but I always found unless I was pt'ing with friends that I was never kept in the white HP all the time so I was loosing the benefits of wearing them too much. I switched over to Dusk Feet as well but hate em, just another piece I gotta switch around when I walk somewhere.

0/1 on Armed Gears and have a pop for Achamoth so hoping for a drop there, one thing I've thought about doing when I get them is switching my Sniper Ring to a Thunder Ring tho. Figure with the gain in ACC from the Aurum Feet that I could make a small gear change and would still be gaining more ACC then I origionally started with. Any other suggestions on a gear switch that would be better then that since I usually parse close to max ACC anyways?

Couldn't disagree more. I hate 2x dusk. Hate Hate Hate. And in exp pts I am in yellow hp enough to warrant not buying Uniboots. Besides the fact that Aurum are free.

    IMO

    Aurum > all.

(yes this is purely my opinion and has no basis for actual damage output)

Here's the thing... I know this is a "situational" gear post, much like most of the game is, but the thing is, I can't decide what is going to be better 90% of the time.

I've attached a picture of my WS gear on this post. As far as other factors, I only have 4 polearm merits (because I have capped katana/axe), so there's no more room currently for accuracy / attack there. The other thing I know is that I should have more Heca gear, but I don't because ninja has been my main job for a long time (I'm starting to get serious about dragoon because of some pieces I was very lucky to get). In case you can't see it too well / don't know much about drg gear icons, here's the breakdown in text:

Valk fork / Pole Grip / / Tiphia Sting
Wyrm Armet +1 / Love Torque / Assault / Brutal
Aurum Cuirass / Alky. brac / Rajas / Flame Ring
Cerb Mantle (I tank on other jobs -_-;) / Wyrm Belt / Warwolf??? / AF+1 pants / Rutters

Anyway- warwolf vs wyrm belt for Pentathrust. I sit around +45 str in wyrm and around +18 dex. Or around +50 str with warwolf and +23 dex. The real reason I've having trouble deciding on one to use the majority of the time is because Penta has such low mods, and attack/acc usually benefits it so much. Accuracy isn't much of a problem normally, but just so it's clear I do a _lot_ of endgame activity, so we're not just talking about merit mobs.

In any case, this question only comes up because I just got the wyrm belt (and I want to believe, somewhere in my heart, that it's more than a jump macro piece). Thanks~

I prefer to use Wyrm belt usually.

Only time I might not use is if I was certain I was capped on accuracy, which would only happen eating like sushi. Which is basically... never.

With Alky's hurting your Acc, I'd use Wyrm belt absolutely.

With Nhands, I'd push Warwolf given the Acc bonus II and good amount of total Dex/Acc you'd be att, but I am not sure if I'd use Love torque , it is a more interesting weighing though, since it's nearly the same acc as Gorget... so for Penta it may actually be the better choice.

You could also get AF+1 hands if you can't get hecatomb. They'd be a nice ws piece. I use Alky's for Wheeling only, pretty much.
