Whats better?

This question isnt so much a "whats better" but here goes...
Ive had the 15 and 35 ares mask pieces for a while, and I havent been pushing my group to go for the 25 because I cant think what the hell im going to use it for. However I just got my 35 skadi feet, so we are going to have quite a few LBC runs coming up. So in the event I get the ares 25 mask, where could I fit it in the following.

I have DRK/PLD/WAR 75 that can all use the ares mask, but I have

Aces Helm, Askar Zucchetto, W. Turban and Hecatomb Cap which I use for all my TP/WS needs on all 3 jobs. Any Idea where I can fit in the mask? or should I just save my gil?

I would favor Ares's head for Rampage, Guillotine, and Vorpal/Swift Blade.

In many higher eva HNM type fights, Are's mask is going to be really hard to beat for a head piece to TP in.

Hell, I wouldn't have minded one when I was doing Suzy/Byakko every week, those two get bitchy sometimes, especially when you rush up there and forget your Ohat, and realise when you hit your Full Acc macro, and still have turban on...

I think you have enough Store TP to do without the Askar body and maybe look into an Ares body. I could be wrong on that, I didn't do the math, but I remember someone telling me that.

I saw a dragoon75 and figured I should stay away - I constantly get tripped up by the acc trait bonus in making gear recommendations XD

that said, 1% haste 1 acc vs. 3 dex 5 attack (is a hard choice) would probably depend on whether that was 2 or 3 acc from the dex and how much haste you already have, assuming you get march+haste you're sitting at.. 40% + say, hasso brings you to 50%, so that 1% haste difference is worth 2% dps. (without hasso it's 1.67%) so you're getting ~2.5% overall out of 1%@50 haste and 1 acc.

3 dex and 5 attack (ignoring crits for a minute) 5 attack is going to be about +0.7%-1.5% (it's hard to say, I should really figure out your stats with meat) depending on your attack without it, the dex is either 2 acc or 3. - best case is about 3.1% but worst case is only 1.8%. if that dex is accurate (bad sub!) you're closer to the worst case with meat probably.

I'd go with the Homam too personally.

I also got skadi feet too and the only job that really needs it is BST, which I have 75 too. Personally, I would finish the mask first unless you got THF75 and don't have striders.

Or COR 75 and don't have w.legs...or I guess RNG 75 and don't have either.

For WAR zerg: Fortitude Axe or anything else? Assume 6 songs, all the fun stuff.

Fort Axe doesn't seem that great for Zerg; if you multiply its damage rating by 1.5 to reflect double-hits half the time, you get the same damage rating as Perdu.

If COR was your only job to need speed just go with Ixion's boots if you don't have w.legs.

Rostrum will give you -2% cast time. The effect on recast time should be the same. But why wear haste gear for party buffs?

Yes, that's why you wear fast cast gear (Rostrums). I was wondering why Sha'ir (haste) was being considered.

You don't want haste as much as song casting time down or fast cast. So shai'ir hands, yigit body, sha'ir body, marduk's body, loquacious earring,rostrums, minstrel's ring etc for speed of casting. It's either that or skill gear for pushing buffs to next tier.

So I'd stick in a heap of fast cast gear and maybe haste (for recast) on ballads but I'd work on skill gear for march etc.

In merits, you'll most likely want haste gear for shadows and maybe stuff that you can stick easily on mobs for pulling.

If you play BST at all, Apollo's will be the best money you ever spent, save your ass in all kinds of situations. Bonus points if you ever plan to level BRD, too.

Also, are we sure that fast cast doesn't work in tiers for this like it does (supposedly) for cures?

To answer tradition...Sha'ir boots are definitely not better than rostrum for buffs. I don't think anyone can conclusively say rostrum are better, however.

I would assume start in Rostrums, swap to Oracle's would be the way to go ideally for buffs, I've never had a time where a recast timer kept me from pulling in time to keep chain, only being stuck casting buffs. If Elegy was down I'd use Threnody. I don't own Rostrums so I just use Oracle's for buffs and Goliard for debuffs.

For a THF, is the big draw to upgrade from the Rapparee Harness to the Homam body the Acc+15? I can't see Triple Attack+ 2.5% beating Haste+4%, unless there's a way to reach the haste cap without the body slot.
