Easily decided.
Dmg 88, +.25 fTP on one hit
Dmg 96, +5 Acc +10 Att on three hits
Will 8 Dmg beat .25 fTP on a the first hit of a three hit ws? My intuition suggests it will.
Adding the acc helping you land all three, and the 10 attack boosting all three, it doesn't seem likely for the .25 to win out.

Bellona's Ring Vs STR+5 rings
The main issue there is for RDM(where the potency vs. acc debate is most important) will be if 20 MAcc bridges enough of the difference between a standard Club + Shield setup and HQ staves, allowing you to land on somewhat harder things that you would normally use Staves for. As it is now you can get 16-17 MND from those slots and most of the things that I can't land debuffs on in my MND build the difference is large enough that I need HQ staves to land debuffs on them.
If the +20 MAcc is enough to let me reliably land on something like a Sky god or Limbus boss then it's worth using, otherwise I'd stick to the HQ staves and Club/Shield for easier targets.
If you're looking for damage output, RC is not really the way to go. Really nice for /DNC though(aaaaand that should bring Max in).
HQ staves are debuff accuracy only, not potency. RDMs tend to use a heavy MND build with something alone the lines of Mythic Wand+1/Numinous +1(or now Muse Tariqah) for potency on mobs they don't need the HQ Staff Acc boost for, that's what he's referring to.
that's correct. ele staves do 3 things outside of what is printed on the staff.
1.)increased acc for coaligned spells (and probably decreased for cross aligned.)
2.)increased damage for coaligned nukes and decreased for cross aligned.
3.)decreased perp cost for coaligned avatars and increased for cross aligned.
that's all. ice staff doesn't make para proc more or earth staff make slow stronger (caveat: it may affect proc rate on para due to resists, don't quote me though). only mnd affects the base slow or the base proc rate of para. the staff would effectively be a middle ground as was stated above between the +16 mnd setup of muse/mythic+1 (17 if you got a morgenstern) and +0 mnd but huge acc boost of ice/earth staves. same is true for ele enfeebles. only int causes the damage to increase but staves will increase accuracy. when trying to top tier an ele debuff, you're probably going to cap out at +12 int (mythic+1 and astral aspis) so sacrificing 2 int for 20 macc if you carefully select your gear becomes an attractive option if you plan the rest of your gear right.
To me I honestly don't think it's going to be worth it, just because anything that I can't already land on in my potency gear I can barely land on in my HQ staves/MAcc gear(though I have no Chapeau yet so maybe when I upgrade from Nashira Turban that'll be different), e.g. trying to Slow Byakko or some shit. I can't really think of anything that is just barely out of reach in terms of landing spells reliably without HQ staves where giving up the 4~ MND(I use Raptor Strap +1 for most things) would be worth it. That said at the moment I'd still possibly take Alkalurops over Mythic/Muse just to save an inventory spot.
I was talking in terms of WS damage, sorry.
Looking for a shield to skill up with on PLD, I tried Master Shield and it didn't really proc/skillup better than what I was using but I sold it...would any buckler pretty much do? I thought I saw something about Sipar blocking often but don't really feel like taking the effort to get ahold of one.
As I understand shields, you should wear as much +Shield as you can (if you're not hitting activation cap for your shield size, that is) to help it activate more. A buckler would probably be best![]()
Drachen Brais +1 or Aurum Cuisses for Penta?
Basically 9 accuracy vs. STR+4 Attk -4 accuracy +7
I used the Light Buckler. It was cheap, is a size 1 shield for maximum blocking, and had +5 Shield Skill on it. If I could go back in time, I might try it with Sipar too since it has better damage reduction based on its DEF stat. It possibly blocks more, but I never got around to testing it.
The Master Shield is crap though. There is no way that 5 shield skill will make up for a size category on the mobs you end up fighting to ultimately cap shield (Master shield is size 2 I believe...). Might want to keep it for the ePeen Screenshot for capped Shield + merits + gear though.![]()
Nuking purposes.
River Gaiters DEF: 9 MP +35 DEX -3 INT +4 MND +4
vs
Yigit Crackows DEF: 11 INT +3 MND +3 Evasion +5
"Magic Atk. Bonus" +2
And
Igqira/Genie Weskit
DEF: 35 Elemental magic skill +5/6
"Magic Atk. Bonus" +6/7
vs
Oracle's robe
DEF: 41 HP +20 MP +20
"Magic Attack Bonus" +6
Magic Accuracy +6
Never had the chance to work on Yigit, it seems better, but not by much, the +1 INT on gaiters is nice though :/
Also never wanted to spend the gil on Genie, but now that theyre cheaper, maybe. It seems like Oracle is better than NQ Weskit, but Genie is prob better.
