The difference in attack between them is so small that the difference would be marginal at best.

King's Justice, keep in mind, for now I have no gaxe merits, 8sword/8axe/4shield, I man/ridill mainly, but gaxe is always good for a change. If I do change, it will be axe for gaxe.
Body:
Haubergeon (nq)
Shadow Breastplate
Askar Korizan
Hecatomb harness
my old macro uses shadow breastplate during aggressor and haub without. Got Askar body last night and the DA interests me, wondering what others think. Also, what do you think about Raging rush? I've been using haubergeon, because I dislike the -dex on shadow.
Hands:
Pallas' Bracelete's (no alky's, never really had much of a reason before)
Hecatomb Mitts
With 0 GA merits you will probably never have capped accuracy on anything VT or higher (assuming you eat meat and no madrigal).
I would WS and TP in haub for both raging rush and king's. The 2% double attack on korazin will almost never outdo the added accuracy... especially with 0 GA merits.
I would only use the pallas/akly series hands for steel cyclone.. the accuracy loss will kill your ws average on RR and Kings.
Wondering for Rampage which would be better: Triumph Earring or Assault Earring? I have 8 Axe and Sword merits (I use maneater/ridill), my ws setup is:
ammo: Bomblet
head: heca
neck: soil gorget
ear1: Brutal
Body: Hauby +1
Hands: Heca
Rings: Rajas + Snipers +1 (or flame depending on how evasive the mob is)
Back: Foragers
Waist: Potent
Legs: Byakko
Feet: Heca

Why do so many people think acc is an issue on Y/G/K, I use osode and alkys so im missing a potential 12acc and 2 dex in favour of 8str and I have yet to see my WS acc drop below 95% on anything except for fafhogg while blinded.
Maybe on something like Byakko I would go as far as to use Haubergeon +1 over osode but never would I use AF+1 hands over alkys because the WS's get a huge accuracy boost when compared to melee acc.
Because your eyeballs are not a parser, sushi/madrigal/hunter's cannot always be assumed, there's plenty of rather well-geared SAMs that whiff more Y/G/K's than they would care to, and with the new WS being a solid multi-hit WS being safer on acc in your WS set is more valuable than before.
Spectacles or Chivalrous Chain?
I know the math behind most of this but I don't know how to come up with delta values for how much a difference 2 acc vs 3 STR makes; Spectacles means I'm buying an extra 1% hitrate (assuming not acc capped, which I don't think I am, but I don't merit much; only parse I have access to right now puts me at 82% with sole sushi and no brd/cor on Dynamis-Xarcabard mobs?), where 3 STR means +1 to base dmg 75% of the time; which is more valuable?
Gear/merits at http://www.ffxiah.com/player.php?id=179704#home, replace footwear with Sarutobi Kyahan.
Halp D:
Edit: btw, I know Chivalrous Chain is all jobs where Spectacles aren't, but the only missing *melee* jobs are WAR, DRK, DRG, and PUP. Based on the jobs I REALLY want to level, I'd very likely have a PCC by the time I got around to any of those 4 seriously, so job considerations are moot.
So I have seen this questioned asked a few times but I have yet to see a real diffinative answer to it, so I am wondering if anyone has been able to figure it out. Ares's Body + Rune Chopper make any sense on WAR at all? I have Perdu and martial already but I was thinking if RC has an option to hit the latent 100% of the time, it might be a better Great Axe for when I need to /nin.
its not going to be active 100% of the time though. ares body refreshes 1 a tick, and the rune chopper takes 3 (i think). if that is true, then it'll work teh same way as when i tried rune axe and gaudy harness on bst, you'll get about 1/2 the benefit on average. one tick, it'll be active (and you'll go to 0 mp), then on the next tick, it'll be off (and you'll see the 1 mp recovered).
having another source of refresh means it alternates between draining each "source". EG sanction refresh. or supposedly it does. go test it out since i dont have bst high enough.
Also I say this to anyone who says to use juices instead of the body or sanction efect.
Do you really beleive anyone is EVER going to have the time to stop and synth crap every other minute in the middle of a merit?
RC is stupid insane dmg output, but you need to be geared for it. By this, i mean in merits sanction refresh/ares body/etheral earring should be good enough to make sure you always have MP for the latent. My ls leader does this for every event and is always on top of the parse.
If you dont have ares, spamming yag drinks works well enough for short events like einherjar or zerging.
I used to use Rune when I first got my Ares body. What happens, is the Rune will tick you down to 0, and then you'll alternate between getting 1 back and losing it. With Sanction refresh and Ares, it goes 2>1>0>2>1>0, so the Chopper is active 66% of the time vs 50%. To keep it active full-time, you need either a way to get MP back (Ethereal) or a full 3/tick. Unless I'm forgetting something, the only way to get 3/tick on WAR is Ares, Sanction, and Herc latent (<50% hp, really dangerous) or have the RDM Refresh you (lol).
I am well aware my eyeballs aren't parsers and I have parsed the majority of regular events (Limbus, Einherjar, Sky/Sea, Merits, HNM) and I'm speaking from having looked at the parses.
The only times I would think my WS acc ever drops off 95% cap is blinded on fafnir, a Thf mamools with Warmup or Skoffin with Wind Wall up (both of these would have to be dispelled, especially wind wall as I don't think anything short of SV Madrigals and Sushi would get you a good hit rate on that) and Prudence, hell even the birds on second floor in Apollyon NE might. But for all those situations I use a seperate WS macro which leaves on Haubergeon +1 but all the other times (vast majority) you are WSing in less optimal gear if your acc is capped when using 1-hit WS.
If its a question of being too lazy to make 2-3 WS sets just because you use X box why are you even concerned about something as small as the difference between Alky and AF+1. If its that much of an inconvinience to add yet another press of the key into your WS macro (I am assuming that you do use the new commands SE introduced to switch book/set) then just get the game on PC.
As for Rana, its a completely different WS so what the hell has that got to do with anything, ofcourse it uses different pieces of gear.
Oh and in regards to whiffing more WS than I would life, ofcourse I do by I've also come to accept that badly timed misses are inevitable. I can think of atleast 3 individual occasions where I've had to 2hr something before it kills me and ended up missing the first 2 WS's and ending up face down, but I also know that those were mobs that I have capped melee acc on, let alone my WS acc.
I guarantee you, your acc is not capped on THF Mamool, even when they aren't using Warm Up, unless you're TPing in ACC out the ass gear, and eating sushi. If you are claiming that you can eat meat and get capped ACC on Faf/THF mamools, I would like to see your gear.
Edit: Hm you said WS ACC, but I still don't believe that, ParseOIDH.
Y/G/K get a pretty noticeable boost to ACC, enough to the point where you don't need a parser to see it. Most of the time, especially on merit mobs, your WSACC will be 95%.
Not only Y/G/K, it's all single-hit WS IIRC.
I'm aware of the single hit WS ACC bonus, and I'd believe that on Colibri, and normal mamools it would push you to 95%, but not for Faf and THF mamool.
Edit: IIRC, you're lucky to hit above 75% acc with normal melee on THF mamool, if you're just capping on regular mamool. To get 95% it would have to add something like 40 accuracy, that seems a bit high.
Wasn't it tested to be around the area of +50~60?
