What do you use for this? What should I use(since now I'm playing RDM, it's certainly more important when something wears off)?
Any general chat about in-game font colors...

iunno but while on topic anyone have a script that shows when each pt buff wears off? with like a timer until how longOriginally Posted by BRP
You could change everything else so that "The effect of loldebuff wears off" is the only thing thats white. Also, I second the motion of finding said script.
And for BRD/NIN/PLD, I've got my evades dark blue, my debuffs sticking pink/purple, and my buffs green and my parties buffs a slightly-less-green green.
In general I use warmer colors for damage/negative effects and cooler colors for things like buffs or cures.
Plus yeah, there's no color for things wearing off, so the solution is to simply change the color of everything else so that the white text stands out.

As BRD, I filter a lot of things, like damage done, recieved, etc. I can clearly tell if someone's getting the pants beat off them by looking at the party box. This makes it so the only things I see in my log are WS, spells, de|buffs, and damage I take (which comes out as red, same as a shadow being taken). I find it works for me, but I am not so sure about RDM. When I was leveling RDM (stopped at 32 for some reason), I never bothered changing my font colors. If you like the colors I use, I can log in and check how much exactly you have to move the RGB bars >_>
i have resisted debuffs as red, landed debuffs as green, and evades as sea-blue. The red and green are easy for me to tell wether it landed or not and to get to recasting right away. The sea-blue was just so i could track shadows easier on Ninja (also parrys). Most of my other font colors are the standard (damage, spells being cast, etc)
I hve landed debuffs as Purple, landed buffs as bright blue/green (self/PT respectively, for my bard), Party debuff'd as Dark red, and my evasion/shadows as bright Yellow (almost the same color as the echo text).
Which buffs are you thinking about? Most of them I usually just go off by instinct (Bard songs, predominantly), but spells like refresh/haste/barspells, I time myself.Originally Posted by LinktheDeme
Refresh/Barspells last exactly one in-game hour, so if you cast them -on- an hour, it'll be easy to make a cycle thereafter. Haste lasts 1:15 game clock, and I usually make a cycle with that too.
I meant a script for like if a RDM cast haste on you rdm can see how long til haste on you wears same for rf and etc. Applies for all spells like bar and etc. would make buffing a hell of a lot easier for whm and rdm.Originally Posted by Carnusty
My friend said someone has made a script similar but refuses to share
Imo, a script won't be needed. All you really need is the clock in the lower left corner, monitor it and say when it lands on :03 you get ready to cast haste on yourself, when :05 lands haste yourself and it'll be done by :07 then refresh immedietly afterwards it'll end by :10. Just rinse and repeat for the rest of the party for haste/refresh/phalanx II and keep a diligent eye on the clock. If you practice with it enough, it'll become a habit and cycles will never wear unless catastrophe hits or you run out of MP.Originally Posted by LinktheDeme
Quick Edit: Haste lasts longer than refresh as well, refresh lasts exactly 1 game hour and haste is about 1 game hour and 20 game minutesish. If you screw up and overshot the time on your cycle, just set haste on yourself to lower timer for all your other casts and reapply refresh when you can.
