I'd return it, even if it was someone I outright hated. Rule of honor above all, and such. Although i'll make an exception for RMT any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

It's happened to me a few times. My policy is - if they try to contact you and ask for it to be returned, and they're not some infamous ass on your server, return it. If they don't ask, keep it.
I would still keep a portion of it.
Had it been the other way around, and the person offered to return it, I would insist they kept some of it.
I figured before I voted I'd be a sap for returning it (as I've done two or three times), but apparently most people agree.
The only time I didn't return all the money was when somebody accidentally bought something cheap but that doesn't sell fast at all for the price of something very expensive that was listed above it. (It was like 9k compared to 380k. One Rainbow Thread instead of a stack of Cloth I think it was.) That time the lucky bidder got to keep my relatively cheap junk and I sent back the rest without objection from him/her.
edit: Oh, and to the uncaring people who suggested it would be ok to keep the gil if the person who listed it only did it to get his/her name on the AH history. Do you realize who devastated I'd feel about this? How would I solo worms on lowbie jobs if I'd lost that, eh?
I would do this. If you cant find out about him, give him back like 50% of it or whatever sizable portion you see fit.Originally Posted by doofusofodin

I believe giving it back is the right thing to do. I never had the "chance" to receive large amount of money, but I gave back a few 100-200k misbids. It just feel wrong to keep it.
If the person cares enough to get their money back, they can send me a tell. Even if it was someone reputed to be an asshole, I'd probably give back however much they overpaid by. Everybody makes mistakes and saying what amounts to "No, screw you" is pretty rude.
I'd say return it. Several months ago the same thing happened to me when someone accidentally bought the Marine F Boots that I placed on the AH. The person meant to buy Marine M Boots, which at the time the Female boots were way way more in price than the Male boots. A day or so later I returned the gil to him. Funny thing is a few months later I ended up in the same end game linkshell as the person. So, yeah like an earlier poster said be nice cause you'd hope the same would happen if you messed up at the AH but also keep in mind you never know just how it can benefit you in the future for being a good person.
Why was enhancing earring 5m.Originally Posted by Baha
Probably for phalanx/enspell. 3enhancing might be enough to increase the effect if it reach certain value. 5 millions wasn't that much compared to the rest during inflation.
Oops, it was enfeebling actually. >_>Originally Posted by Tricen
