Saw it today. I liked it quite a bit. Definitely worth seeing if you are or have ever been a Simpsons fan. Favorite part was when Green Day was singing the Simpsons theme song and it showed the teleprompter:

Saw this on Saturday night; I felt like the movie was sub-par at best. It definitely had it's moments but I was really disappointed. All the humor seemed really forced and it'd all been done before. The only part that had me rolling was (spoiler)Bart's peepee, hahaha. Wasn't expecting that. There were 2 guys sitting behind us that were completely moronic, though - like reading everything across the screen and commenting about every obvious joke and making really retarded comments. One of them had the most forced, annoying laugh ever too.

The sound in the theater sucked, and the popcorn was dry. So I was a little frustrated during the whole thing, which may have jaded me and ruined my experience. There were moments in the movie where it should have been full-fledged laughter, but it was like awkward crickets instead, because some of the humor was poorly delivered. Overall I wish I hadn't paid the $10 to see it, but to each his own. Maybe I'll try watching it again when it comes out on DVD.

I liked the movie in overall, made me laugh more than most comedy out there. It was nothing special, but it was still enjoyable. The only part I hated was the plot and serious segment...they shouldnt have bothered with those things at all.

eh, I thought it was a good movie. I don't really think there was a time where I found it boring, but I will admit the new simpsons kind of lack the zing the old ones had. Still, overall fun, entertaning movie.

Oh, and it nailed 74mill in the opening weekend @.@

I saw it and I loved it, I will admit I am a huge simpsons fan too though. I agree this movie is not for everyone and you will have a hard time following certain parts if you are not. I can see how some people would not enjoy it but I did and it was worth the money to see it to me.

Not being a Simpsons fan has nothing to do with why I didn't like this movie. I'm a huge fan of the Simpsons. Some of the early advertising got my hopes up that this movie would be an amazing return to their old kind of humor, which it ended up not being.

To me the best part of the Simpsons has always been the throwaway jokes. Stuff that's completely irrelevant to the main plot (like basically anything involving Disco Stu, and usually Otto or Comic Book Guy when the episode isn't about them) just hits harder because it's humor for humor's sake. In a way it's what separates something like Seinfeld or Friends from UPN.genericSitcom_08, and it's why I think Family Guy is really good most of the time. So when I saw the wrecking ball scene from the first trailer, I thought maybe the Simpsons movie would go in that direction. Now, hearing about the main plot and the jokes that are part of that doesn't really say much about how good the throwaway jokes are. Having read about it on wikipedia, I think the main plot is decent, but basically a long episode with slightly more emphasis on the current event type stuff.

So what I really want to know is, was the wrecking ball scene the only scene like that or not?

Oh and DDZ, I heard about that smalltext thing on the radio a week or two ago.

I got a good download and watched it, probably go see it with my brother at some point and grab the dvd for kicks. Didnt watch simpsons when i was younger so its ok, but I can defiantly see this movie was like 10 years too late.

I never said that the only reason you wouldn't like this movie is if you were not a simpsons fan I just meant it would be tough to really enjoy the movie if you were not. There is of course room for people who are simpsons fans but fans of one style and did not like this style. I personally liked it because it was different from the show. I have all the shows either on my computer or on DVD if I wanted something that was the same as the show then I would watch the shows.

My post had nothing to do with why or why not you in particular did not like it Priran we all know you did not like it you have made that very clear in many posts.
