The most ridiculous ban ever

Hi there, this is my 1st time posting in here and i dont know if this post should be in this section or not.
Anyway here's the story.
Recently a friend's acct got banned due to using the word NIGGER in /say during a KB camping session.
He was talking to his friend in /say and did not direct the word to anyone else other than his friend.
He knew this friend for like 5 years and they were just joking around.
The outcome of it was thrown in jail and a ban from SE. Here are the SS of the chat with the GM.

BTW no tells were received from the player before the GM chat
The GM mentioned there was a major offence previously (was 3 yrs back), was a MPK offence.
Due to repeated offence (what POL said when he called) is what he was banned for.
But should this /say NIGGER be an offence? Or should it just a warning?

We later found out it was actually someone from a rival HNM LS (Vanquish) who reported him.
The person who did so was Leggo.
I actually found a picture of him on FFXIplayers.

By the look of the picture, do u actually think he was offended by the word when it wasnt even directed at him?
Well looks like a white trying to act all black to me.
This is the lowest of the low someone could do to set someone up to get his acct banned..
Soon after Leggo begun walking around naked and said he got his acct jacked and soon kicked from his LS
I was happy when i saw this. I guess this is retribution. LOL

It's just a game and ppl actually go that low to do such a thing. Wow

This is why my LS (and most that I know) has a no /say rule at any event.

If he was really just talking to his friend he should have been using /tells especially if saying something so stupid. Its not the ban thats ridiculous, its the stupidity of your friend to say "Nigger" publically. Especially at a HNM camp with rival LS's that would usually jump at the chance to "stick it" to another LS.

Perhaps I'm a bit old school.... or just old... but this arguement is weak at best. SE is inconsistant at best in the policies and choices with GMs, this we all know, but just cause half the end game community is filled with cockheads and jerkoffs, doesn't make this right. Sure we've all seen worse things on game but thats the justification for this?

Oh and saying "If you're offended by such words then put on the chat filter" is kinda a little late don't you think? Or are you implying that we should have to walk around with filters on all day cause people like your friend can't keep his mouth shut?

I'm glad to see SE finally taking action against RMT, 3rd party tools etc and its nice to see someone, even if its only 1 GM making the effort to clean up our game a little.

I agree with this statement. There is a difference between blocking out the retards in Aht Urgan from shouting and having to block out comments like the one the OP mentions said. The chat filter is there sure, but people should have some sort of decency to act maturely. Just because you're on the internet it doesn't give you the right to be a complete fuckface.
