I'm looking for some advice on my SMN gear. It's rather gimp at the moment, as I don't have access to a Dynamis for most AF2 and I never get to use my SMN other than for Assaults or soloing anyway. I know I should replace the back, which I will probably do once that damn Cape drops from IxDRG. Stingy bastard.

I've been using Yigit Turban most of the time, but should I switch to AF+1 for the extra skill?

I use Loq/Novia for my earrings, Evoker's/Tamas for my Rings, Summoning Torque, and Heirarch belt. I'm just basically looking for some form of macro setup for Blood Pacts. I have a standard healing setup that I use for my WHM, so I'm rather happy with that.

I understand that SMNs don't pull lot of hate, being SMN75 myself, but Astral Earring is worse. Convert HP->MP gear isn't worth it on SMN. I'd use Novia if I had it, never too much -Enmity, but right now I'll stick to Magnetic

SMN doesn't have access to the amount of Enmity gear that WHM does for main healing, that is the main reason that I wear it. Spamming Cure III over and over is bound to get you hate eventually.

And I really don't like the idea of Astral Earring, either. SMN are so fragile as it is, losing that HP is dangerous. I think my SMN has a base of 890 HP with no merits, and tend to take a lot of damage. They don't have an adequate Stoneskin, mostly because they're lacking the base Enhancing. Not much chance you're going to survive if some form of nasty AOE hits you (shit happens, even if you stay away).

I agree entirely except on the Stoneskin note. I believe mine is capped now. Mind you, it's not the cheapest MND set ever. But it's not unpractical at all.

I Swap in Mahatma Cape, Novia, for other support roles like your mentioned, Cure w/e

You have more things to worry about than earring choice then.

My earring setup is Mag/smn.

IxDRG is a bitch so just use an intensifying cape til then. 30hp is always good.

It sucks about the af2 thing, but honestly, you can get away with just the gloves. The other pieces help here and there, but the gloves are the truly god like piece of af2.

Oh yeah, if you ant more -enm, pick up a staff strap and a hedgehog bomb.

Honestly, Summoning Earring completely phased me. I do use it, but its never on for more than a few seconds at a time.

I'll get on SMN and post a picture of it's lolz when I have the chance; never on SMN anymore.
