I've heard both accounts of people saying it's worthless to TP in brutal with Ridill, and people saying to leave it on. From what I remember from reading these tests done, brutal ended up not doing anything? That's why I went with the former. So which side of the argument is really true, and were there any other tests done that give a concrete answer that I guess I missed?

When you take a look at these tests it just focuses on the Ridill as if that's the only weapon the war is using, which is not true. Wouldn't the increased rate of DA on the axe even out or even exceed the damage lost from the extra attack from ridill?

My friend and I did some parsing recently when he got his ridill / ebody. His damage with brutal was about 1% higher over the second test (over using an assault earring). We used the exact same songs, food, number of mobs etc (kept it as controlled as we could).

It barely matters imo, but because of the test he decided to just leave brutal on with man/rid. I'd do the same personally.

The parse also proved that my bst can stay pretty close in terms of damage D: (that was my test in the parse while he was doing brutal/ebody/ridill

Generic nin and sam I guess. Will update with PLD, Cor and possibly DRK later but this is generally what I use.

edit: yes that is NQ Arhats and lightning bow. I should get around to updating them but I always get sidetracked(and rarely use the job outside Merit/Nyzul)

Mainhand Senji. 3% Crit will do more for Jin then 1 Base Damage on Fudo.

If ridill was your only weapon the effect of brutal earring would be to make your hit rate about 5% more consistant.

You lose some triple procs, and you turn some singles into doubles.

If you are dualing then your axe will gain 5% double attack while your ridill remains mathematically static. The result would be 2.5% more attacks. Would you wear an earring that gave you 2.5% double attack?
