Re: Unable to erase memory for AF

K, I also decided to redo WHM af today myself. I had dropped most of it at some point, upgraded hands and kept feet.

Erase memory, get club, I'm wearing the FUCKING BOOTS and he tells me to go do the yagholywater/moccasin deal. Wth? I thought I could skip the part I already had done.

Nope, like I said, the Wiki is wrong, it erases your memory entirely and it doesn't matter whether you've dropped the AF or not.

Redoing that much AF is alot of work, plus I still couldn't reset the quests to redo it anyway, so I called a SGM. Basically told sorry, I can see what the problem is, but I'm unable to give ingame hints, you're sol. Never got my af back, and am unable to do af+1 anymore

All af quests are under the completed side of the quest log. However, somewhere, something isn't flagged completed.
    Oh man, that's horrible.
Hahah, oh god, that GM is the biggest dick in the world.

Anyway, I heard you could just store the set first, then redo the quests, and trade the new pieces to be upgraded or just drop them. Then get your normal AF out of the storage(or don't, it doesn't matter). I'm not sure if it works... I couldn't test myself since I already upgraded a piece and don't plan on going back and redoing AF until I've upgraded two more pieces.

If you need to re-acquire a piece you threw away or upgraded to AF+1, you can repeat the artifact quests by talking to Vingijard in Lower Jeuno. You do not need to discard your other AF first. You may reset the quests and start them again, even if you still have all of your original AF.
It's in Category:Artifact Armor (AF redirects there, I think you edited it recently.)

    EDIT: It's under "Re-acquiring Pieces."

That statement from wiki is fairly accurate, but a little poorly worded. There seems to be some confusion on how AF memory erasing works so I will try and explain it.

When you talk to the Jeuno NPC what happens is all your AF quests get removed from beging completed and flaged. The part with the droping of AF comes from the fact to finish a quest you need to recieve the reward. Since all AF is ex you cannot recieve the reward if you have the item. This is why you need to drop the item(s) or have them on the storage NPC.

I will use white mage as an example. Say I wanted to get AF1 + 1 hands and keep my full white mage AF set for storage and level cap purposes. I would have to complete the AF weapon quest and drop the hammer, if I still had it, to complete that since AF weapon is a prerquisite for all other AF quests. Next I would have to flag my first AF armor quest, having the first AF armor quest started is necesecary to recieve the hands quest, but since I dont hhave to complete it to do the hands quest I don't have to toss my AF feet or anything. I then have to go through all the steps of completing AF hands quest. Presumably I already traded my original hands to the Jeuno NPC for upgrade to AF1 + 1, but if I had them for some reason I'd have to drop them or hide them on the storage NPC to get a second pair.

Now say instead I wanted to upgrade my AF body. Since the body piece for White Mage is the last piece I would have to complete my feet quest, tossing or storing the other pair as needed, in order to be able to flag the body quest.

You can be fairly selective about which piece(s) you reaquire. The only problem is with the last piece of AF for your job which requires you to complete the first AF armor quest plus obviously the AF weapon quest. You can target any other piece by itself since its either the first AF armor quest, a coffer which just requires flagging first AF armor quest and AF hands quest but completing neither, or the AF hands quest.

Re: Unable to erase memory for AF

As said above, the wiki statement is correct. I seriously don't get where people keep coming up with random shit out of nowhere... I'll see if I can reword it.

btw, earlier today, I edited that page about the regular coffers. YOU DO NOT NEED TO ACTIVATE GLOVES TO OPEN COFFERS ._. wonder where that rumor started up..

edit: and some fucking retard changed it back, seriously, I was gonna do something to help wiki, but fuck it, this is that paralyze on WS shit all over again.

how do I add comments to that talk page?

You just click on "talk page" and then edit that to say what you want. Add ~~~~ at the end of talk page edits to sign your name.

Im at work so dont know the < pos> but it's past the three magi gate, in the room with the Wendigo's and bats, to the right (east?) of the Toraimorai Canal entrance, their are eight doors there that each match up to an element.

maybe it was to the left..? i dun remember, but it was in the same big room at the Toraimorai Canal entrance.

Re: Unable to erase memory for AF

I was reading http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/Categor...Artifact_Armor; Valyana (about a month ago) is thinking "Perhaps you can get coffer AF after starting ANY hands quest, so it's only necessary for your first job to 50?" Has anyone gotten coffer AF before starting hands AF on their first job getting AF?

Interestingly: Although it's like 6 months old, the main people responsible for the decision to immediately revert edits regarding hands/coffer AF (such as Julian's) are the 2 some people might remember from the Paralysis + WS episode.
