Family Guy isn't funny. Hell, copying Family Guy is what's killing The Simpsons. They turned Homer from a lovable idiot who tries to do the best things for his kids into a Peter Griffin rip-off.
Anything that Fox touches is damned to a slow and horrible death.

Funny how everyone in our generation has the "Simpson"esque sense of humour. The exact sarcasm that The Simpsons created.Originally Posted by Koga
Family Guy simply copied that and made it more vulgar.
-Dumbass Husband, a wife that he doesn't deserve, brother and sister that are opposites, and instead of a silent baby, they make an uber-intelligent one.
Plz don't bite the hand that feeds.
I reckon this fella's got a point. (Seriously, I think it's a great show. My father would be Hank Hill had he stayed in New Brunswick and not gotten an education.)Originally Posted by Insanelol
I do agree that The Simpsons has gone way down in quality over the last 4 or 5 seasons, mostly due to stories that revolve around homer's cartoonishly-zany antics that don't even remotely resemble anything a human could or would do. Between about season 3 and 11/12 were the golden years. Good writers, great social comedy, and just something so fresh and innovative in many people's minds to make it a very unique entertainment experience. A good example of this would be 'Mission Hill', a single-season animated series by Bill Oakley and Josh Winestein (former Simpsons writers) that had just awesome scripts and a beautiful animation style. I'm really sad it didn't last, even though now a show like Mission Hill might get more legs considering the success of Cartoon Network's projects.
For my dollar, Futurama's the best thing that has come out of Fox's animation blitz. While there were a few complete stinker episodes, the show dared to be poignant and thoughtful in a lot of nuanced ways that The Simpsons or Family Guy could never get across.
Reminds me of the southpark...
