I recently started meriting on rng again as my rng gear is complete barring relic bow (in the process)
I played around /nin on colibri the other day using no food at all in a 2brd PT (min min march mad) i chose to try dual wielding ridill/mkris for shits and giggles and it really wasn't bad, sidewinders were hitting 980(no minuets) to 1200(avg) to up to 1400, this was w/o meat nor sushi and shooting from point blank range. i was surprised at the damage tbh, i'll hafta play around meritting rng a bit more, trying /war and meat etc.
used your typical haste builds as already said when tping, same as ruke was using besides mars ring. I'll post a better reply later today when i get out of work

I inherited a Kclub and have been leveling DRK for it, but was recently convinced one drunken night to join a merit party on my RNG with it. I grabbed my melee equip for BST (haste & acc) and didn't use any macros, doing sidewinder from the menu. My acc was about 40% and I was outparsed all around. I should really work on making a useful merit setup for it.

RDM nuked a little to help on chain, for like 7500dmg total. This was parse last night in Thickets camp (Nyzule Isle >> Thickets), killing only Mamool Ja. As you can see Ridill WAR won but not by much, ~2%. I checked several times during the PT and WAR + myself were ahead at different times, usually WAR though by 1~1.5%. This camp favors the NIN & WAR far more than me because Mamool are much harder to hit with RNGs 200 club skill, compared to WAR & NIN having max merits for their weapons. I used Barrage almost exclusivly on the 1 Lurker in this camp when it popped because even with sole+1, rng acc traits & like.. +61 acc in equip & +22dex, Lurkers can be very difficult to hit with club. Songs were Min/Min always, BRD did not sing Madrigal for the Lurker. Everyone used sushi, and everyone has pretty much the best gear available for their job. With a few HQ exceptions.. like I don't have HQ dusk hands for tping, and I don't have speed (use swift). Everyone pretty much max stats/combat skills/job specific merits. I'm 8marks, no merits in club and no plans to. My 74% acc is kinda bleh, at other camps I can parse 85-90%, which would help me alot.

Just throwing this out there anyway, RNG def. can compete with Ridill WAR and at a more friendly camp could beat them even.

As Ridill RNG, for those times you're /nin, what other weapon do should dual wield (besides Kriegs;

Franny? An actual melee axe like Maneater or Woods?

If you're using a Ridill and focused on fast TP gain, you're better off single wielding it.

Don't dual wield Ridill or KC as a RNG, even /NIN. It slows them down noticeably.

If you're doing the melee for TP thing, use gun. The sweet spot being marginally outside of melee range means you do much better just staying at max melee range and never really moving. WS dmg goes up without ever dealing with "out of range" messages for melee. Personally, I like Culverin+1 for my Ridill build, but that only gets to happen when people actually bloody sell Cannon Shells.

Most importantly, though, don't forget you're a RNG. There are times when KC isn't appropriate. Accept that. I hate it when people feel like they have to use an item full time just because its "1337" and they have it.
