It's funny how you can bash the wiki and it's editors so much, but yet you don't have a single edit there. It's hypocrisy at it's finest.
And it's funny how you will blindly defend anything you're personally associated with as if it was an attack against you. Get the fuck off it, he was gullible and moronic about not once, not twice, but three fucking times. Put the cover macro down, at this point it's fully justified.Originally Posted by Charitwo

I agree with what you said earlier though. If it's on the intraweb, it must be true:

I read it, I don't remember arguing any of rocl's points for him. I said that the 3 times (and it was 3 times divisor, It doesn't matter if it's 3 times regarding the same damn subject because it was discussed more than once and EVERYONE else knew it was a joke) he's bought this crap leaves him open to a fuckton of scrutiny. If you want to say "well it was only discussed once", I'll even throw him a bone and go with it. Thing is it was discussed throughly once, and he still fucking bought it.Originally Posted by Charitwo

The irony here is that of course you'll attempt to be a skeptic about this.
Morals of the story:
-A wiki's blessing is also its curse; open-editing allows quick info (doesn't require waiting for someone who just got diagnosed with 4 types of cancer, had his legs removed, and was drafted into a war to update the website nor does it require reading through pointless comments to find extra info) but it also allows for more errors (such as forgetting to put in a verify tag), misinformation, and vandalism.
-Never trust info that could easily be shopped, let alone /echo'd (now if there was a screenshot showing the actual Rider, then it'd be more believable). Not to mention, this was never bragged about wildly, and it doesn't seem believable without a screenshot (like solo'ing AV and unlike getting a moved drop in a plausible BCNM).
-This thread is stupid.
-Wild Rabbits drop speed belts.
I only saw one thread (the original with the SS), which I didn't continue reading the page after the image was posted, and the thread that I responded to where it was stated I was wrong. My bad though, I'll make sure to put on my ESP hat next time I participate on this forum. But if 1 = 3 in your world, that's cool.Originally Posted by Ryko

And when it was later discussed in the second thread, you didn't think "hey maybe I should go back and fix that so I didn't look like a flaming mongoloid". It's practically august, more time's passed between the second thread and now than the time that passed from the time you put that in and the second thread.Originally Posted by Divisortheory
I'd middleman it and go with 2, but yeah, let's nitpick about needing to be told multiple times before you get it. Don't do it, you'll shoot your eye out.
Wasn't talking about you on that one, and edited it accordingly.Originally Posted by Charitwo
Why would I go back and edit something I had written long in the past? When I'm wrong I'm wrong, I don't feel the need to cover it up. Apparently you do though. When you discussed it in the second thread I said "oh hey I'm wrong" and then I wasn't fooled anymore. Hence the number one.Originally Posted by Ryko

Wow, guess you don't understand what a wiki is either. It's a talk page. You can't be serious.Originally Posted by Ryko
Yeah, and you then place on the fucking talk page that "Hey, I was durrrrrrrr wrong, take it down please" and then the actual entry gets altered. I know, it seems like so many steps but I'm not the one who made the first one. Considering the reason you're catching all this flak is due to someone finding it because the actual entry was erroneous. I mean you went out of your way to do this same arduous process in the first place to get it wrong, I would at least think it'd be your prerogative to go through it to get it right.
It's a freely editable resource. You post a comment saying I was wrong. Or better yet, don't do shit, then complain about how the wiki sucks.Originally Posted by Ryko
That would be nice and everything if I bashed the XI wiki here or at any time ever. My only derogatory comments were towards how easily you believed it. I don't go there (I shouldn't say ever, but even the term rarely would be overestimating it). On the rare occasion I'm totally lost on a subject I tend to ask a question in LS chat or vent. If I need item stats, I go to somepage. As such, commentary on the wiki besides this recent exchange are limited.Originally Posted by divisortheory

This thread is pretty pointless. Yes, Divisor and Charitwo should've had better judgment to trust A. skeptical info (Divisor, but he at least did not say "omg dark rider was killed by v.trunk IM PUTTIN IT IN", in at least 1 instance he said he wasn't too sure) and B. Put old, skeptical info that the person that mentioned it wasn't too sure of (Charitwo). (Note: Charitwo put in the recent info on the actual article, not Divisor). But they both admitted their flaws, it's done. Arguing about it is like getting angry at someone because their ancestor did something bad to your ancestor.
That said, I can't say I understand what Rocl and Ryko seem to be rambling about...
EDIT: Actually, I'm going to say the moral of the story is don't try to claim something you know as fact, since Charitwo put barely believable info in an article without a v.tag and Ryko says he doesn't use FFXIclopedia much, and his experience with the wiki is obvious in that he said Divisor should remove what he said from the talk page (most people don't do that to talk pages unless it's your user talk page/you archive it/it's a pointless wall-o'text/it's vandalism that ruins someone else's edit, since the page history will always be there so removing it does virtually nothing).
