Multi IM Client (F.E. Trillian)

I'm looking for a good Multiple IM Client. I've used Trillian for a while now and it's just become a fucking hog on my laptop! I'm already running a hog of an OS (Vista) and I can't get rid of vista because of proprietary hardware. So honestly something lightweight would be nice. But if all of them are pretty heavy then name one or vote (its a poll) for one that is the best in your opinion. So I have heard of the following:

Pidgin
(I guess Gaim is now Pidgin o-o)
Trillian

And thats about it honestly... Can a few people give me some opinions on Multi IM clients?

It's fast, it's lightweight, and it's mildly painful to use, just what I love in an IM client. It uses plugins for absolutely everything, so you can disable what you aren't using and save memory/CPU usage. That's also it's pitfall, as the plugin model doesn't really work for everything, like it's awkward to set up multiple accounts of one type, something that's ridiculously easy with Trillian. I'd say give it a shot and see if you can find the right plugins to do what you need to do, and if you can't, use Pidgin.

Pidgin is heavier (and more featureful), but less painful. If Miranda is a feather and Pidgin is a piece of paper, then Trillian is like a brick, but it's pretty and flashy.

I don't want some heavyweight thing running on my computer... And when I do go onto AIM somewhere else I don't want it fucking up my AIM list! I want it as if I'm running the same client (Groups in tact) with only AIM running. I've tried trillian and gaim and they both work but trillian eats memory and gaim is missing a few things I would like... Honestly I'm looking for something that runs at minimum requirements but lets me do fast file transfers without having to switch back and forth between the original client and the multi im client. Is that asking to much (Probably is lol).

I personally use this, I already have Firefox open so it just opens on a new tab. By going to the https: you can use the SSL to create secure connections back and forth using AIM.

As far as standalones, I use trillian only

Every time I install MirandaIM I end up uninstalling it because you have to download and install a zillion plugins to get anything done.
