Iron Man: Best Movie of 2008.
Best Marvel movie released to date too, although Spiderman 2 was also really good.
just saw iron man, so fuckin awesome!!!
SPOILERS (Dont feel like typing in small font, that shit is so annoying)
I thought it was lame Iron Man didn't fight Iron Monger at full power. A full power Iron Man fight vs somebody of equal strength would have been truly epic. But instead, Iron Man gets demolished pretty much. Still a great movie.
I think The Dark Knight might be able to contend with Iron Man. I had chills by the end of that preview.
Downey's delivery of the one-liners in this film dropped my jaw more than once. Especially the one about doing a piece for Vanity Fair. God I almost fell out of my seat.
A drunk prick playing... of all things a drunk prick. Downey nailed the role I have to admit, and I did enjoy the movie.
The director said he had to have Downey to play Tony Stark, saying he would be akin to Jonny Depp as Capt. Sparrow.
His performance was really good, but he's always been a really good actor, when not in jail etc.
It bothered me a little after my first viewing, and a bit more after my second...
Does anyone else find it extremely unlikely that a tank could shoot down something A) that small and B) that fast? Unless it was purely coincidence...
What came to follow was so absolutely awesome that you have to just allow it.Originally Posted by Turambar

So a guy can build an iron suit that can fly at supersonic speeds but it's not ok for artillery to have radar lock?Originally Posted by Turambar

Things alluded to in movie I can't wait to see in sequels: War Machine, The Mandarin & The Avengers! I hope SHIELD agents wear the blue & white uniforms in the next movie.
Even though rotten tomatoes has never failed me. This movie has a 94%.Originally Posted by Kiyuan98

Every superhero movie, nay every MOVIE, should end with Sam Jackson wearing an eyepatch.
If the rumors are true... that's gonna hold up for every Marvel movie (except maybe Punisher : War Zone) coming out over the next few years.Originally Posted by Bagel

As for the next film (wiki-quote);
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Man_%28film%29#SequelJon Favreau planned Iron Man as the first in a trilogy, and has signed on all the original actors. Paramount chief executive officer Brad Grey expects a 2010 release date for the second movie of the series. Favreau believes sequels will allow a latitude in tone, and explore darker story elements such as alcoholism, which he intentionally set aside from the first film. Favreau feels depicting Iron Man's nemesis, the Mandarin, who was created as a metaphor for communism, will be challenging, as he finds the character dated. He also wants to streamline the effort it takes for Stark to put on his armor, considering the "assembly line" effort he makes in the first film.
As for the rumored Avengers film (wiki-quote);
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avengers_%28comics%29#FilmIn August 2006, it was revealed by a stock market report that The Avengers was listed under Marvel films in development. It was later stated that Zak Penn, writer of the scripts for X2, X-Men: The Last Stand, and Elektra was to write the movie's script.
Iron Man director Jon Favreau said he would like to direct a film adaptation of The Avengers. This would be a crossover to fictional universes in other upcoming Marvel films such as The Incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America. He also explained that Marvel has told him that "they're pretty clear on wanting to do it with the actors who’ve established the roles or to not do it at all." He continued, "I think it’s a good idea if you use the characters established in the other franchises that then come together for an event."
I'm honestly getting sick of him. Every damn movie he has to pop up somewhere. He needs to take a year break or something.Originally Posted by Bagel

Saw it tonight and was a little disappointed. Downey was awesome, as was the first 4/5 of the movie in general. As was already stated, however, a shitty villain made for a REALLY shitty/anti-climactic ending.
