Well, the first two movies were better, but it was good.

Wow... I laughed through the majority of it. Terrible story, terrible script, and terrible acting from most of the people involved. 90% or more of it was unintentionally hilarious. Sorry, I just don't see how anyone could have enjoyed it for anything other than (possibly) the explosions.Originally Posted by killerx
Once Upon a Time in Mexico was horrible. Johnny Depp was good in it but the rest of the movie was atrocious.

Yep that movie sucked monkey balls. The acting sucked, and you know why? Cause most of those actos/actresses were from spanish soaps. Also, i laughed when the rebel army marched into town and the old lady yelled out "Viva Mexico y la republica" or something like that, and was all willing to die for the government. In real life, that would never happen lol, that government is so corrupt, no one would have that much patriotism over the mexican government.Originally Posted by Ivve

It was a movie...Transformers don't run around planet Earth either. Once Upon A Time In Mexico was meant to be over the top and completely outrageous. I seriously doubt they were taking themselves that serious.
Unless I'm mistaken, weren't the first two in the series serious? I don't understand why they would have gone from serious > parody on the third one. Also have to wonder why it was billed as an action/thriller and not comedy/parody or anything like that. I think it was just a shitty movie.Originally Posted by Pyro
Once upon a time in Mexico, was just a popcorn movie. I understand what Ivve is trying to convey, but it was an ok movie. Sometimes you need these types of movies, just for a fun time. Ivve thought it was hysterical, I thought over-the-top feature. You cant say that Depp owned that role with his antics, and one liners. "Skull fuck you to death", made lol so fn hard, especially the way Depp overstates it. Not every movie is going to be an academy award recepient, but for what OUATIM is you can atleast enjoy it. Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter in one movie? And in THIS movie?
My brain just imploded.

P.S. Even though Helena Bonham Carter is a hot mess, I have a big lezzie crush on her. <3
Carter chick is pretty ugly. . .
I wouldn't fuck her because she's hot; I'd fuck her because she looks like she knows how to do some wild shit in bed.Originally Posted by Iono

Disclaimer: I have never nor care to see once upon a time in mexico, but when I read this statement, I instantly thought of Army of Darkness, and realized I need to find my copy and watch it again.

If this is true, then these are going to be extremely good movies (I *LOVED* the first one).
Johnny Depp as Wallace would be awesome, Hell and Back is my favorite Sin City story.

And as for the comparison to Evil Dead/Army of Darkness, they technically "gave up" on being serious in the middle of the 2nd one, before going 100% cheese in Army of Darkness.
The difference would be that Army of Darkness is intended to be cheesy and comedic. If you take a look at the link on IMDB, it's classified as an action/adventure/comedy. This is just classified as an action/crime/thriller. I honestly think it's just unintentionally hilarious, with a few intended laughs thrown in there that came through. Maybe I should watch it again; I haven't bothered to do so since I saw it 4 years ago. I'm a pretty big fan of mockumentaries and parodies, so that type of humor is not something that eludes me. It just didn't come across that way if that was the intent.Originally Posted by Krandor
