Dualbox 2 lvl 75 Chars?

I think most two boxers get an account left by a friend. Some level up their own second account. I really doubt that many buy.

I've got a second account left to me, but it didn't have a mage, so I leveled rdm to 75 on it myself. I also decided I'd really like my own raise III, so I've been leveling a whm that's currently 70 on a third account. I know a few other people in my linkshell that have leveled or are leveling mages on second accounts, so it's probably fairly common.

I have 2 accounts (One shared with 2 friends cause I quit for a while), but if I didn't I would undoubtly level a second. It is beyond useful. Even small errands like running yourself more supplies is worth it. I save so much time with it lol. Plus 2 screens isn't that hard to do. You get used to it pretty quick, and I have even gone 3 characters in a meripo averaging 15k an hour while pulling healing and DDing lol.

I've kinda been playing with the idea of leveling one of my mules on my other account to 75. I want a tank job, so I can get a Sattva and cap +HP and +enmity merits, the very opposite of what I have on Cleo. I was thinking PLD, since getting another pair of haidate for NIN or WAR would be a pain in the ass, and I already have NIN and WAR past sub levels, so it's a pretty straight shot to 75. Thoughts? Suggestions?

2 boxing a 2nd character is the ultimate gear mule.

I have an inherited character from a friend, which was inherited by a linkshell mate who quit. 75 Taru BLM with a 73 THF Mithra (which I added the last 2 levels myself)

BLM makes a great PL'r, d2'er from crags, event, glass storer, etc.

The THF is decent for TH.

I was considering the logistics of getting a 3rd charcter to level in a 3 man PT and see how difficult that would be...

CoP missions are the devil.

CoP missions on pld are the devil. I don't know how much better off you would be going pld instead of nin anyway. If you already have a ton of 75s you can buy most of the good ninja gear right off the ah. But for pld you need to basicly do dynamis, kings, and limbus do have decent gear. Seems like it would be alot easier to spend a week or 2 in sky rather then grinding for months for pld gear.

Anyway I have 2 accounts, I leveled almost every job on them from 1-75 on my own (a friend played brd on one of my accounts for about 20 levels). I can do just about anything with both accounts togeather but lately I have been doing most endgame activites on just one out of laziness.

Question: If I want to run 2 instances of FFXI, each running a seperate account, can I force them to fullscreen to different monitors somehow?

Best I can think of is to run the 2nd instance of FFXI from a different directory, where I've modified the Windower config to display a non full resolution size in windowed mode - like 1024x768. Then I can just drag it over to the 2nd monitor. And, most importantly, my main windower directory is untouched and still runs the game in my normal resolution.

Anyone got a better non gimp solution?

Read the readme for Windower, you can actually just make two Windower.ini files with different resolutions and specify which by command line arguments, which means you can just make two different shortcuts to Windower.exe on your desktop.

To Mademine, those concerns have occurred to me, but I guess a big part of it is that I've already got a lot of that r/ex stuff on my current account, and I'd rather try something different than get the same old gear. I certainly wouldn't mind doing NIN and WAR after PLD though, since I'll probably end up leveling NIN to 60 for CoP anyways.

I have 4 accounts, one of which I leveled all the jobs on entirely on my own, and 3 that were given to me by close friends when they decided to quit.

I only keep one of those accounts active anymore, since it's 100 Alchemy and has TH4, and to be honest I probably wouldn't bother with 2boxing it if it weren't for that.

If you don't have a 3 box setup, don't try. I burn through a emp ring charge on T Tormentors in Den of rancor every morning, and it takes me about 45 minutes to an hour. Its not the best Xp, but it works for all three. I haven't found a comparable camp in Aht urgan but if I ever do I'll be very happy. Its mainly the "takes 10 minutes to get to" part that keeps me going back.

A guy on Unicorn leveled 6 different characters to 75 by himself, at the same time. He had a nice macro system that was linked from one PC and sent commands to the other 5 computers. His main was Chainspell and he ran a LS called Winsurstshell. He never did endgame though.

That same guy (Chainspell and his other char- Perfectdodge, Mightystrikes, etc....) also has I think 3-4 100 crafts. Thats pretty much all I see him doing... camping AH in Upper Jueno synthing.

Have 3 accounts:

My main, with the 75's jobs and where I craft.

A 2nd account that was given to me by someone who quit, that I use to PL myself with (makes lowbie levels that much more stress-free)

The 3rd account with a lv30, rank 5 that I started from scratch and even gave a gold world pass to for fun. Eventally I intend to take that account to 75, and deactivate the one I use to PL. I really prefer using the toons I created and I worked for.

I do it with a desktop+laptop combo, but I PL with the laptop via macros, so that I barely need to look at the other screen. Not very efficient, since my laptop is prone to overheat, but better than nothing.

by looking on your sigs, how about mnk+whm killings pot in sky? I have tried nin+rdm (nin have no katana merit) killing om'earn in altaeiu before, then best exp i can get is between 2k~2.5k/hr. Unless the blu special Imp camp is empty, you might able to give a try there, since I have tried killing Imp(in mire) at the first few week when toau release, it gave about 3k/hr. well, after ppl figure out mire is "good" for merit, i can't find any good place to dual box xp anymore. Now i'm only 3 box to manaburn wamoura/camp when i need exp...

My Assault static has someone that dual boxes *shrugs* The most I dual box though is when I visit my Girl Friend and I get her ready and moved to an event location so she won't be late doing so herself when she gets home from work at the time the event would start. I let some people dual box me while I was deployed once, but found it to be a bad idea as they couldn't listen to the rules of leaving my gear on my character and not taking it to their LS events >.>;

We had a member in a LS i was in awhile back who most thought was a douche, but tolerated because he showed up to events. Well this person asked his friend if he could use his character to PL himself for a little bit. Being allowed he gets on his friends account and asked another person in the LS that was a friend of the account he was on if he could use him to PL himself when he went to bed.... once again was allowed. Got on that account and did the same to one more person (the target of his attack). So leap frogging across he got on the guys account took the stuff we assume and got the guy banned. in the end we got this guy banned for the hacks he used, but the damage was done.

I decided in light of this and how I thought it was partial the LS fault for the events and allowing that douche to stay well past his welcome a year before that I was going to buy a friends account and hope the ls would pitch in to offset the cost. LS decided not to pitch in at all. So I stripped the character of things except the blm gear and made some money back that way, then gave the character to the guy who had been hacked by that douche. Well a lot of trouble came up because of who the character had belonged too and a stand off occured. The end result the guy left the shell and I took the character back. 2 boxed it a little over the next few months then sold it back to the original owner for the rest of the amount I had not made back yet. Decided unless a character was given to me...was not going to deal with that shit again.

I also received a friend's account, PLD with sea who was a close friend, and just didn't have anything left to do, no jobs interested him but PLD and he had tanked everything in the game.

I use it a lot, for various things where a pld is more useful, and he still has the info so he can log in whenever he wants to talk to people when he misses them. TBH I don't dualbox them too much.

Also, "The 2hr crew" on Unicorn are awesome, Chainspell is a great guy.
