All right, I can give you that I apparently didn't read your post properly, but how does that make me suck or justify accusing me of buying gil/accounts.Originally Posted by Ashky
Try actually explaining something instead of letting the wild accusations fly.
Perhaps since you haven't bothered earning your own money and had to buy gil you cover it by accusing other people, but w/e.

If you accumulate gear that good and have no clue how to use it, that's just about the best evidence of account buying I can think of.
Edit: Spelling
I assure I have not bought the account or gil, as I said I earned everything either through crafting or drops. I've been in the same Linkshell with the same people for close to 4 years now. However I seriously doubt that my gear is in the top 5%. I explained my reasoning on the evasion torque over the peacock charm, so how does that mean I have no clue how to use the gear?Originally Posted by Ashky
I give up. You win. Wear the Evasion torque in merit along with the Boxer's Mantle. It makes perfect sense to me now.
Wut? Why do people insist on not using food on birds? Just bring at least a few stacks and plan on using them all. But instead of sole sushi, use bream/squid. Or even just bring some cheap meat like mithkabobs.Originally Posted by Emelyn
If you use sushi and you feel your acc is really capped (won't be in a lot of camps with the gear set you're using), then swap out your evasion torque for a spike necklace or royal guard collar. Meriting on Ninja is nothing like leveling it, you should try to maximize all your gear towards damage. So ditch /all/ that evasion gear, and wear the damage gear full time. Otherwise you'd never hold hate off a really good DD for more than 5 seconds, and that evasion gear won't help that adaberk ridill war that's tanking 95% of the fights.
Hey since were asking noob question
Shouldn’t fudo be in main since it’s has a higher dmg?
Also I wear shura body for meriting. Should I pop on AF body?
(I don’t have koga chainmail, or hauby, I use osode)
most people main senji because the +crit effect is per weapon, (it doesn't share like +attack or +acc from a perdu weapon would) so the extra +% crit outweighs the difference in damage.Originally Posted by Charlemagne
I would only use the AF body if I felt I didn't need the acc/att on shura and it wouldn't do something silly to my TP/round (since I would probably be using some store TP to save a round or two).
I has a question too, when putting a Perdu Blade into a U/U combo, there's no reason not to mainhand it, right? seen a couple around recently going U/P and I couldn't figure out why.
Considering you're probably using Unji, it doesn't make a difference.Originally Posted by Amele
they're the same damage value? for some reason I thought Perdu was one more (at work and can't look it up).. ok, thanks.
Don't you just love how people naturally assume accounts are bought without first investigating? Whatever happened to the "innocent until proven guilty" mantra that westernized nations follow to some extent? People in general have little respect of common law.

Your NIN gear is similar to my gear. I rarely merit as NIN unless I have to or asked to tank in xp/merit PTs. I am missing a few gears every NIN "deems critical." But frankly, my inventory can't support the space. However, I believe you should always carry two sets of gear -- one for tanking, one for DD. Its always disappointing hearing how NINs "don't bring tanking gear" when they are expected to tank stuff. One time an ex-lsmate went to tank Voivre. He thought he could just DD/tank it. He remarked he should have brought tanking gear as he was eating dirt while I'm tanking the rest of the fight. He couldn't maintain shadows and bit the dust.
Thing is, anyone who wears "tanking" gear to a meripo is just gimp, and that's that. If someone honestly cannot stay alive in DD gear in merits, they shouldn't be playing NIN.

Still talking merits right? Cause if you're in an efficient (not top of the line, even) merit party on your NIN, you shouldn't really need to worry that much about recast timers. With Haste spell and moderate Haste gear (say 15% or so), your recast for Utsu Ni will be about 30 seconds. (I'm sure someone will do the math for me)Originally Posted by razorcat
In most merit camps, shit will be dead in 30 seconds before you even need to recast. Even if other DD aren't sharing hate it's not like the healer will bottom out MP trying to keep you alive until timers are back up... but really, how often will that happen?
NIN in merits equals full DD setup... Haub, Dusk/Kotes, all that shit. Evasion be damned... and save the tank gear for events.
At that kind of party, having tanking gear will just prolong your torture.Originally Posted by razorcat

Yup still merits.. I've managed to hold against a mnk/war and war/nin. I'll let you infer about the mnk and war equips. I know in well oiled merit PTs gearing up in DD is good. Recast doesn't become an issue since hate is being shared. But I still carry tanking gear nonetheless.Originally Posted by Vedder
Can't exactly do that with friends. I do know I'll probably never merit with them anymore.Originally Posted by Zilong
Maybe you should stop being friends with them then
Though seriously, if hate is that much of an issue, just stop voking.
If you still have too much hate without voke, have the other DD be the voke bitch.
If you still have hate issue, then I really can't say much beyond your party is complete and utter shit
It's called a newbie forum so ppl can ask questions. It wasn't retarded question. How bout you say something useful instead of being an asshat to someone. I hardly call wearing an evasion torque "tanking gear". Did you look at all her other gear she wears? Looks like she on the right track. She just wanted some advice not a douche flaming her.Originally Posted by Sendra

I would change your gear dependant on your PT. If you have a PT that takes longer to kill then you changing to PCC > Eva torquemost likely ain't gunna change the kill rate a whole lot. Maybe then you need to focus on tanking and not all out DD. If they kill fast then change to more ACC/DD gear and try to keep up.
Haste-->Accuracy-->Attack-->Dex-->Str-->whatever
or something along those lines.
Only place where you'd debate that is what u use for body. Some nin's use hauby for TP, I actually use af+1.
To me- the difference lies in what a meripo is--- Its a marathon of killing a shitton of mobs--so the +5% haste on weapon swings is actually > DD #'s wise than the +'s from the Hauby. If it were a situation where you'd need to more damage in a shorter period of time- then I think that Hauby would do fine. Overall though- I think the difference is small if any and franly- af+1 looks cooler.I have yet to parse them against eachother-- so take this w/a grain of salt.
10 accuracy is approximately +5% hit rate.
so it's pretty close. most ninja's I know will only use AF+1 if they feel they don't need the accuracy or attack on the haub (shit is situational.)
