I haven't been talking about the OP for this entire page, much like I just said in my last post. Pay attention.
You started this argument by saying how the OP's idea of keeping DRK at 72 is idiotic.

If DRK is your only job, then yeah, it would be, but otherwise, you can just use other jobs to do the other shit you claim 75 DRK are "decent" at.

The only thing I've been arguing is that a level 75 drk is probably more useful than an octave drk. Other people have been arguing this very point against me.
That's only assuming DRK is your only useful job for anything.

Welcome to 2007, any decent endgame regulars should have multiple jobs for everything.

Beside, my argument is that octave DRK > 75 DRK for zerging, and I don't think anyone else argued beyond that.

Yes, that's what I originally said. Then, for the third time, the argument changed on page 2 and everyone was arguing how a 72 octave drk > a 75 drk. You could've stated at the beginning that it was a derailment, but you didn't and thus it gained validity. You can't say in the middle of the argument that it doesn't even matter after you've been arguing against it. You're also totally discounting the fact that drk is actually a pretty decent dd endgame and still clinging to the notion that everyone has war or sam or whatever the situation calls for. Again, it's possible to have multiple jobs without having those.

I'd rather have a DRK 72 with Octave with any other job (excluding DRG and PUP) than an only DRK 75 without KC.

I've been arguing that 72 DRK can outzerg 75 DRK with octave, then you completely change the topic and tell me I'm wrong because the topic no longer fits my argument...

Why don't we just start talking about unicorns then so both of us can be right?

No, I said it's unfair to allow me to switch the topic then complain about it like 30 posts later. It reeks of a cop out type move.

Not everyone need every job at 75 to cover most situations. 2melee/2mages is usually enough, unless you leveled one of those joke jobs that never have any use.
My first post in this thread was:
"Unless DRK is your first job, there is no reason to level it pass 72 if you have an octave club. They will come pretty close to lv75 kraken drk, and HNM zerg is probably the only place where you will use it anyway".

To be more accurate, I should have said "first melee job", but I think it cover the basic of my point. Most job have very specific use endgame, and you are overestimating the usefulness of a DRK75.

This was your first post, and it is why we are arguing. Drk 75 won't bring you anything more than most melee jobs would, and octave club isn't gimping you in any way, unless you consider kraken as a requirement.

Last I checked, for a kraken DRK to be a juggernaut, they need that too. It's invalid to hold it against one then ignore it for the other. The difference of increase between the 2 is understood, but it's not like you're going to leave the kraken drk away from a bard because "well they're good enough", and this is ignoring the fact that the octave DRK is already assed out on 8% haste anyway.
I think you missed my point as well. You can't expect anyone to have perfect gears all the time, and not everyone will be able to have a speed belt and everything. If both are "juggernaut" like you say and met every condition (SV+haste), they will have a similar damage output. However, the Zaghnal dmg will go down the drain the moment you take off some some haste. Take off speed belt and replace it with swift, you lose 15% dmg with scythe, and 5% with kraken. Remove Soul voice and scythe just lost another 20%, while krakken lost 6%.

This is why I'm dissing the scythe. Not that it's bad, it's an awesome alternative for krakkenless 75 DRK

I'd take you more seriously if you knew how to spell kraken in your past couple posts.

If someone has a kraken (granted, dumb luck) and wanted to be super awesome with it I'd expect them to have 3 pieces of homam, a swift belt, and a turban. The DRKs in this LS save one recently leveled one are sporting at least 2 homam pieces each and only 4 of them have multi hitting weapons. none of them are kraken clubs.

However, the Zaghnal dmg will go down the drain the moment you take off some some haste.
Yeah and my point is in a zerg fight, you're not taking off that haste so it's a silly comparison. It only becomes valid in the case of an octave DRK because they literally cant wear homam legs and a turban.

That's fine with me. Didn't really want to argue with someone who doesn't put more than 5 sec in his argument

The haste I'm talking about was mostly the one on speed belt (+2%) and Soul Voice (will be on for fight like bahamut, but can't always get soul voice against wyrm and JoL).

I need to put more than 5 seconds into an argument to argue that drk can do damage endgame and thus stopping at 72 is silly save for a handful of zerg fights where you'll be slightly more useful? I think I've been saying that the entire time.

Again, you omitted the part where I mentioned "multiple job". There is an handful of situation where DRK is better than another melee job endgame when it's not for Souleater.

Well yeah, I mean doesn't everyone have blm, sam, rng, war, and mnk leveled so they can pick and choose which to use at the appropriate time?!

You won't get in the LS with DRG and DRK at 75, sorry >_> So yes, your average person who join a LS that does bahamut will have more than 1 job leveled.
