Well this new update will/might make it harder to gather data now. They will leave one hour after the start.

Now you could simply stall with a couple hundred people and win in an hour for sure.
I've always explained the Besiesged win condition as 'morale'.
The invading army has a starting base morale depending on level, strength, alzahbi defense.
When the invading army defeats generals, a large morale boost happens.
When another wave happens, morale is boosted.
When players defeat foes morale is lowered.
When morale is lowered past a threshold, they retreat.
As such, the 'cheering' monster are likely to be either trigger for a morale change (presence = boost, removal = lower).
Or morale may be inherient on each mob and when the collective whole is depressed enough they leave. These 'cheering' mobs may be doing an aoe 'morale boost' to those around.
After all, how many of us get upset and decide to stop exping when our bard has to leave. =^.~=
*edit* grammer nazied
morale* sorry
Hey, it isn't so bad. Mijin Gakure spamming whores and doom-ga bitches aside, those guys go down pretty quickly. Unless you mean the "Mega-Boss", then you have nothing to worry about.Pleased to be leaving 'kill a NM for XP bonus' off your list of commandments.
1-hour limit is going to make data collecting hard indeed, but it's not too much of a loss. In any case, I hope it doesn't cause the exp bonus to never appear.
If you can't stand behind what you write and need to "fix" what other people said... you should grow up. I don't appreciate people quoting and "fixing" it. Its very unoriginal and idiotic because frankly, people who don't read previous post will never get the right information later on.Originally Posted by Septimus
Making it awesome and gathering data are two separate things. But I guess you're off chasing Zarzarg to notice subtle differences. Data I suppose can still be gathered. Just have to work faster in scanning what monsters are/aren't up.
Not to be a grammar nazi, but the word you are looking for is "morale." "Moral" is a different word, and has quite a different connotation.Originally Posted by Hanyoko

Well approximately 300 can't defend a level 8 mamool-- at least from what I was told. It was during NA time as well. NAs on Valefor aren't the most reliable bunch in my opinion.
Had 306 fighting off level 8 Undead earlier.
300 75's (about half of max, which makes some sense) is plenty from what I've seen.
Does killing the mirrors do anything except slow down the enemy's progression?
Is there any way to weaken the mobs defense or evasion or make it so fewer mobs attack?
if those 300ppl have no one focus on lamia NM at all, I'm believe at least able to defeat or hold the undead for hrs until more ppl get into bersiege.
ragnarok currently keep lost to lvl 8 mamool. 3 times during NA period and once just 2 days ago? During the NA period, it has been always raping by the qufin ja or whatever the nin NM with its shadows.
but yea, I have no idea why we still lost when there is 500ppl at starting with 600ppl in the end. must be there is way too much idiots that only fighting those NMs and leaving minors mobs raping generals.
Bump. Wandering around arrapago today for the summerfest event I found that every archaic mirror I ran into was at 5% HP or less. It seems like the mirror breaking parties are intentionally leaving them at low HP until a besieged begins building. At which point it's relatively easy to go finish them off one after the other. Might not work as great in halvung and mamook since some people go there, but arrapago is probably a safe bet no one will interfere.
Beastmen still cheer? I remember them doing it even when they are advancing, despite whether they were NMs or not, just if they were Mamool Ja/Trolls/Lamiae/Merrows. Having said that, I do believe there is a point system that goes like this:
1. Leaders (Ja Ja, Gurfurlur, Medusa)
2. Generals/"Mega Bosses" (level-specific; all return in level 8 and the level 8 "general" can summon the HNM beast at 200; these guys tend to spam a certain ability, have different pets from their lesser counterparts, or have some other kind of gimmick attached to them)
3. "Unseen" NMs/"Bosses" (The dudes that are not seen advancing and have 3 "followers"; the Brontobugard or Killing Claw, for example)
4. Unnamed NMs/"Sub Bosses" (The original NMs and Phantasmal Puks, Aerial Torpedoes, and Bhoot Invaders)
5. Regular enemies (Maybe beastmen are worth more)
I doubt pets and Qufeel Ja's shadows are worth anything. Not sure where to put the "HNM clones", the "followers" of the "unseen" NMs (Ravagers, Foragers, Freebooters, Bull Bugards, Slaughterous Scorpion, and Qutrub Forayers), or the non-NM aerial enemies (Dive-Puks, Bombshells, and Bhoot Intruders).
