    Video card recommendation

Ok, my turn to ask for help.

The memory on my old Radeon9800 finally went piff (well, it was used for over 4 years, so I kinda expected it!) and it's time to buy a new card. The concerns I have are: We are dealing with a Dell Dimension, so no fancy cooling solutions are available, and I can't install a powerhog of a card. Other concern: preferably below $100.

I'm leaning towards purchasing in store, since I kinda need the card ASAP.

Basic specs: Card needs to be AGP, only slot available is an AGP 8x slot.
I've preferred ATI products since Nvidia cards have given me nothing but headaches, both professionally and in personal use.
Bar that, what specific chipsets would you recommend. System is mostly used for *light* gaming and entertainment, FFXI, and is attached to a DVI lcd.

EDIT: leaning towards a Geforce 6200, ATI 1550, or ATI X1050. All are near the price range, but I want a good, cool-running, reliable card.

it's agp, radeon and the x1600+ are good quality cards. Not as good as the newer nvidia's but as you said you don't need a spectacular card and for the money this card will do what you need.

You're better off ordering it and 2 daying it or whatever than getting it in a retail shop, it'd still be cheaper.

Bah. goddamnit. Dell pulled another beauty (well, and Intel): the "AGP 8x" slot is really just an AGP 2.0 slot. Fuckers.

Oh well, returning the lovely card I found (cheaper than the nice one you pointed out to me btw, but hey, thanks anyway)

teh winrar: the Geforce 6200oc. Dear god, I hope it doesn't blast the power supply to kingdom-come.
