Ok well as long as it isn't just me. I would be offended if everyone else was, but since there is still no "racial slur" for white people I guess I can continue being apathetic.Originally Posted by Koyuki

I'm not the least bit offended by this. Actually I'm glad it's set in Africa, gives me a chance to see how well the environment is rendered. Plus, I can't stay mad at Chris Redfield.
The greatest win in the whole thread. Really.Originally Posted by quannum
Anyway, there is no racism involved. Seriously, Americans make my head spin sometimes.
Found on 4chan and fits this thread perfectly.

Added for good measure since I didn't really contribute much in my last post:
They are looking way too hard into this shit to try and find things that are racist. Sometimes people just make my head spin."This is problematic on so many levels," Platt wrote, "including the depiction of Black people as inhuman savages, the killing of Black people by a white man in military clothing, and the fact that this video game is marketed to children and young adults. Start them young...fearing, hating, and destroying Black people."
Wait a minute, there's a gameplay video out already?
Yeah, and it looks pretty sick. I'm really, REALLY getting tempted to buy a PS3 for things like MGS4, White Knight, and now RE5.Originally Posted by Kuya

I duno about you guys, but black people are scary enough on their own. Turn them into zombies, and BAM, INSTANT CLASSIC. I mean that's what scares the shit out of me cause i'm white, black people. Because i'm white, very white. White.

JP people aren't rascist, Hell, FF7 even had a black guy, Barret is like all the black people I've ever met.
In advent children they rid his Mr T haircut and gave him CORN ROWS, see? Like all the black people!@
My people make me sad sometimes. Video game racism? Get the fuck over it. Reminds me of a classic quote from Chris Rock "I love my black people, but goddamn I haaaaaate a nigga". That is all this is. Wasn't a problem when Racoon City's white residents were getting their faces gnawed off by fellow caucasians now was it? Double standard ftl!
As a black male I most certainly will buy this game and unambiguously and unremorseful begin to pump hot slugs through Africanized grey matter. Not like the game is going out on a limb buy portaying Africans being slain. These fools are killing woman, children and the elderly in the Sudan, Uganda, Djibouti, Eritrea etc... as we speak.

This is stupid, if you are offended, don't play.
Grown ups these days are what make racism still exist in my opinion. They say that cuz a game is made for kids, which this game isn't by the way and shouldn't be played by kids in the first place because of the rating, it shouldn't have "Racism" in it. But the way I see it, I don't think that younger people even see racism as much as the grown ups do. By that I mean they don't really give a crap. Black is black, white is white, they simply see people as people. As if a game where you shoot black people is discriminating, what about games where you shoot white people. Is that racist as well? For some reason racism only found when it's "Discriminating" black people, but there's also racism against white people but somehow people don't see that.
Whatever, it's just a freakin game. If a game has no black people it's racist, if it has black people, it's racist... Seriously.
And about the comment about Barret at the end, so what? Barret is from the hood and that's how he talks, is that racist somehow? Red XII talks in normal tone of voice, that's racist cuz he's a cat and he's supposed to meow!
Racism is only there if you look for it.
When all our parents are dead, and it's just us and our children and grandchildren in the world, do you think society's concepts of racism, censorship, and other issues people get their panties in a bunch over will change significantly from what they are today?

They will evolve some, but I don't think that the fear that white people have about being called "racist" will change much, and because of that it will retain it's power - oddly much like the word nigger does.Originally Posted by Khamsin

Not remotely.Originally Posted by archibaldcrane
Probably not. However, labeling someone as a racist unfairly could have a much larger impact on their life (think career opportunities).Originally Posted by Ryko
