P.S. Great movie.
Went to it today and loved it. I never saw the second movie and it's been forever since I saw the first, but it didn't bother me too much. Loved the ending. Loved the Desh (I think that was his name?) fight scene. The camera shaking was nice at first, but I noticed it more and more as the movie went on and it seemed overused to me, but I guess it doesn't matterStill good!

Excellent point, and very much takenKeep in mind, the Bourne books were a mixture of fiction and reality. The main antagonist was based on Ilich Ramírez Sánchez, aka Carlos the Jackal. That story worked nicely back in the 80s, since the real Jackal was still free. By the time the movies were being made, he had already been caught, tried, and sentenced to life in jail.
The movies themselves were updated to the present day, so some elements just wouldn't make much sense anymore, and others would need to be rewritten or changed. They could've kept the character in all the same, but they just removed him instead and reworked the story. And I think that the first movie basically meant the other two were going to have very different stories, since it wouldn't make much sense to follow book 2 and 3 when the story from movie 1 wasn't setup for it.
Definately goinhg to start reading the books now -- I can't get enough of this series. Yes, the Desh fight scene was kick ass, but come on, how bout when he jacked the police car.
I love Bourne fight/chase scenes. Car chase scenes are always with like crummy cars -- first one it was like a minicooper, then last one was a taxi, etc..
In the back of my mind, I hope they don't make any Bourne movies. I can't stand to see it ruined, which Hollywood will inevitably do...Just let it be--in my opinion one of the greatest action movie series to date.
EDIT: Anyone else suffering from severe paranoia over this movie? When I walked out of the theatres at like 3 am, I was like taking cover behind trash cans and rolling on the parking lot to get to my car.
It's actually the first of the Bourne movies I've seen, though I wanted to see the others, just never got around to it really. Regardless, I loved the movie. The action was awesome, loved the subtle humor throughout it too.

Saw it yesterday. I Kinda didn't get there till about 5-10 mins late so place was insanly packed, and had to sit in like 2-3 row. Movie was awsome whole way through, But that close to the screen the camera shaking was way to much in some spots lol
Saw it tonight. Awesome.
I felt like a bobble-head doll trying to steady the screen. Great movie otherwise.
saw it tonight. everyone started cheering after the desh fight scene, was pretty awsome experience.
From a "glass is half full" stand point, you got to experience six entertaining storylines instead of three.Originally Posted by Kametatsu
I saw this opening night. I can't remember the last time the audience collectively went "whoa" after an intense action scene (maybe The Matrix was the last time). The theater went "whoa" like 2-3 times that night.
I thought this was the first time I thought Julia Stiles was hot. I think it helped that she wore a lot of coats to hide her 12 year old boy body.
Goddammit my fiance continuously fucks me over when it comes to this shit. I wanted to see this movie opening weekend and for good reason...I love being in a packed theater when people get into the movie and are clapping and shit. She hates going opening weekend...and always makes me wait 2-3 weeks, so we're in a nearly empty theater with no reaction whatsoever...so now if I want to clap or whatever I'll feel like a douche because no one else will be there.
Fucking FUCK...
Last movie that got a standing ovation I was at was Grindhouse. People were screaming and cheering at the ending.
haha you know it is a good movie when the entire thread says it is good on BG.
Just saw this tonight and fuckin' loved it. I kinda thought Supremacy went away from what made Identity so good. And this one went back to the roots. Anyone else feel that way?
Also, 2 song requests.
1) The song as the credits start
2) The song right before the credits start when Julia Stiles smiles, this song is used in every Bourne movie, it's essentially the theme.
Thanks BG'ers!
The "theme song" is really catchy, I've noticed it at the end of every movie too.Originally Posted by Po
