    Re: .Hack: G.U. Vol. 3 - Redemption

    I thought some end at different levels or something.

    In my current Vol.2 save (cleared), my weapons aren't really that upgraded at all, which is why I had a lot of trouble with the final boss (not gonna name him just in case people will start bitching about spoilers ), so I had to level my characters up to about 88~, and then raped him with Haseo/Pi/Endrance.

    I want to max everything though so I can start Vol.3 the right way.

    Re: .Hack: G.U. Vol. 3 - Redemption

    I completed 100% of the game last night. I have to say the coolest things you get in the game: Shadow, Other Self, and DX- Z Guns.

    Shadow is an acc and Other Self is a body piece both level 150 that you get if you killed Doppelganger twice in every game, including this one. The body piece provides 75% reduction of physical and magic damage as well as causing all damage dealt to reduce SP instead of HP. Shadow provides a generous HP/SP regain and increases damage of ALL arts and attacks by 150%.

    DX-Z Gun is a level 150 weapon that you get after completing a LONG 100 floor dungeon. On critical hits, 95% of the enemy's health is reduced.

    The game and series is amazing. I was completelyt driven to completing everything. Its a wonderful series that I recommend to anyone to pick up.

    So yeah... 3 was epic >.> Beat it pretty fast though D: I was kinda upset at the time it took to beat it, even though it seemed a bit longer than the other 2... Probably just because I know they aren't gonna make a 4th part lol. I almost finished everything up in it too ^^. All the quests and stuff are pretty much done. It seems I am missing a wallpaper though and can't find where I might have missed one in the game. Anyone else having that problem?

    There's an OVA out/coming out that's basically an epilogue for G.U. It's got the same animation as Roots I think. I need to find more info on that.

    There's also something coming out at some point that's like a CG movie of all three games. Man where are these screenshots when I need them. ;_;

    Last episode I remember watching was Haseo fighting that Gaxe woman that rarely got hit. Does the story continue after that; and if so does anyone have a link to somewhere I can watch it?

    I tried the very first .hack infection or whatever and hated it. I have not played a .hack since then. But I keep hearing every where that this game is great.

    If I just went and picked this up after that much of a lapse in the series would I be completely lost, or would I enjoy it?

    Re: .Hack: G.U. Vol. 3 - Redemption

    Watch the .hack//G.U. Terminal Disk (it was sold with Vol.1 when it came out so you can probably find it on craigslist or ebay or something... or just watch it for free on youtube >.>)... it basically tells you everything you need to know about the first series and how the new series' story came about.

    If you then want to, you can watch the .hack//roots anime on youtube which is basically a prequel to the GU game series, but it's not that essential (although it would make a loooot of sense)... I have links to the english version of the anime if you want.

    The games themselves are epic as hell, and about 500 times better than the old series if you ask me. The battle system is actually fun too, and they also have avatar battles (big monsters fighting each other ) which are awesome too.

    Definitely worth playing... but like I said, you will get into the story a lot faster if you watch the anime series... if you don't (and only watch the terminal disk instead) you will get into it towards the middle of volume 1, but it'll take a few hours before you understand the story more or less.)

    Re: .Hack: G.U. Vol. 3 - Redemption

    Is anyone else really really sad that they're going to stop the .hack series (or so I've heard)?

    They need to make an MMO, when .hack//infection first came out, I was soooo obsessed with it. If a .hack// MMO came out (an actual one like FFXI, not that online/offline fragment thing), with the headsets and controllers I would totally switch over. I'd probably also worship the person that finally made it.

    Anyway, third story of GU was pretty amazing, I didn't see .hack//roots or whatever before I started //rebirth and I still haven't seen it, just not interested and the graphics look bad, I was still able to understand the story somewhat. Once I finished the third game and got all the characters, I finished some of the side quest but got lazy and didn't care to finish that bike crap...

    Anyway, it's 2 AM and I'm bored camping some shitty NM and I wanted people to start talking about .hack again
    We should create a petition and send it to someone important and have them make an MMO for .hack :D :D

    Fuck MMO, they just need a PS3 .hack series. G.U. was SUCH a good series compared to the first four, it would suck if they had stopped now. ;;

    I'm a little sad I guess. I honestly don't think they'll stop though. Something .Hack related will pop up again. Since this was bumped, anyone have any new details on the OVA coming out soon?

    Bump! I was just bored and started remembering CSs from the first four .hacks. I remember when I was level 7 and you had to go into that first dungeon alone I kept dying and I was stuck on it for like a week before I figured out how to use skills.

    I loved the first series. I think I liked GU's story more but the first 4 games will always be loved.
