Sooo... last night I was driving home from ice skating with some friends.
For anyone familiar with the construction going on outside downtown Jacksonville FL, you know it's bad.
So i'm driving I-95 north on this ramp that leads to I-10 west. This Jack-A is behind me, but in the lane beside me. He's speeding and I've already slowed down. by the time we're at the sharpest point in the turn, he's about to hit me and I ease up on my turn quickly to avoid him doing so. After that, I lose control but then I regain it after two swerves. I'm in the emergency lane and then the road runs out and I smack right into a temporary barrier with a metal 'cusion' with a yellow caution triangle sign on it.
Everything's alright except for my car. I have a few scratches on my arms and my face from where the airbag came out and scraped the skin off of me.

I wasn't even touched in the back. The sheer force of impact made my trunk fly open along with some of my stuff flying out.

Full-frontal... ;-;
So yeah, my car is done. I'm still poor because the guy who ran me off the road didn't stop and I've got no info on him, and it was night, so I couldn't really see his car in the midst of all the chaos.
My question is:
It's a '92 Camry, I can't imagine getting much from the insurance company since the car is so old. How much do you guys think I would expect to get? Also, what kind of new car should I get? The money that I'll have is what the company pays me, plus about $2k from leftover scholarship money, and $1k that's in my bank right now.
I almost wish I would have gotten hit, so I could have a 'neck injury' and sue for some cash.
