Asking what the party set-up is.

Hello thar BG. I need your opinions on my topic.

So today I was seeking on my 61 sam/rng, and I get a tell asking if I want to xp. I then asked the person what was the set up of the party? The leader then told me nevermind because that I am too picky about what's in the party; WHAT THE FUCK?!?!

I just wanted to know whats in the party. I probably would've joined anyways after he told me whats in there, but he had to be a dick and pretty much said to me: you're and asshole; I'm not gonna let you in my party because you care too much about them.

Of course I care about what's in the party, because I don't wnat to end up in some shit-tastic party.

So am I right and is he wrong, or am I the asshole for asking whats in the party?

P.S. This person also refused to let my 60 sam join his dynamis ls.

Same thing happened to me this weekend. I got a /tell saying "Party"; I reply asking what was in it, and was told "nvm don't want elitists in my pt".

Went out past this pt leader's group on the way to an exp camp and noticed that 2/3 of the PT was dead.

I guess I'm happy to be an elitist.

You have 5 75s supposedly and you don't know;

1. Half the Pick-up parties are run by idiots.
2. You can't get into Dynamis until Lv65.

Exp with ls mates whenever you can. Pick up party is like playing Russian Roulette with a revolver and all but one of the chambers isn't loaded. Every so often you wont get shot in the face.

i live by the rule of: ask party set up if your repping someone; join if your not. if your not repping someone and you join and its a shitty set up, drop and be an asshole, because its the only way they will learn. if your repping someone and the set up is decent - good, join if they plan on staying a while.

Well, you should at least /sea the person who sent you the /t. I always form my own merit PTs. When I get a "I'll only join if you have a brd/do you have a brd/is this a burn PT" and you didn't bother to notice the person inviting you is a bard, then sorry, I don't want you.

Why should I get someone who second guesses my ability to put a party together when there's another perfectly viable alternative? Of course if I really needed you I'd just suck it up and tell you the setup. But it does irritate me when someone treats me like an idiot from the get go.

If you get into the party, and the setup is crazy stupid, feel free to leave, but why preemptively insult a potentially good party?

Because 95% of the people who put together a party are idiots, and also I don't idle in Whitegate and I'm not about to run out there and find that it's a crap setup.

stop condescending and bother to mention the jobs in your initial invite offer, and maybe more people would believe you're not an idiot.

honestly, I'd rather have the melee who *did* ask what the setup was.
