Nice, you're over 50%. I've got a couple at home for you, been visiting/stuck at my dad's house for the past week though. Think there are a few caps around here too anyhow.

Thanks guys, progress is going smoothly thanks to all the help

    I'm at over 60% now.

I think its pretty funny/ironic that the top 3 contributors don't even drink soda. Also its funny to note that 'Admin Girl' is actually my brother who takes the codes from the admin chick he works with who drinks diet coke like its going out of style. Everyone near the top of the list has their own method for procuring codes haha

Some guy I know at work as been stock-piling his caps/codes in his cube. I feel like coming in overnight and using them all up and putting them back there like they haven't been touched. He probably has at least 500 points of stuff in there.

lol, maybe I shouldn't have thrown all those coke points away last year... I've gotten about 10k of it thrown in the trash cause my school hands out like 250 point cards ever so often everytime you purchase something at the caf....

Re: Help evilbau get a free Wii!

Update: So i'm about 2/3 the way there now, i've saved up a lot of big point codes so I'll probably have 75% by the end of the week.

Kononeko sent me a PM about how mycokerewards has taken down the wii from the rewards section. That kind of irks me as that kind of throws a wrench into my plans. I sent some emails to try to confirm that the Wii won't be put back and this is what I got:

Thank you for contacting MyCokeRewards.com. We appreciate you taking the time to contact us regarding this issue.

Due to the overwhelming response of consumers to our loyalty program, we have temporarily depleted some rewards and plan on loading more rewards to the site. We will continue to add new rewards throughout the end of the year and so we encourage you to check back regularly to see the updated catalog. We value your comments/feedback as we continue to look for ways to improve the My Coke Rewards program.

If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us again.

    Sincerely,

    Erin
That canned response didn't even address the one thing I asked about, the Wii. Actually taking this possibility into account, I have some backup plans. The first one was to redeem multiple Nintendo DS's and trade them into a store and get my Wii. Well, just as I was waiting for a response from their Customer Support, all the DS's sold out too. They still have the white DS there as 'Out of Stock' but it hasn't been taken down so there is still some hope for this plan, but I'm not too optimistic. The second backup plan is to get gift cards and selling them to get my Wii.

Most people would probably think its ridiculous to try to get a Wii through such round-about methods, but I am trying to keep the final results as close to my original vision as possible, even if it is more hassle than just going out and buying a Wii and instead using my points on an ShopAdidas shopping spree.

I'm a little disappointed my plan is starting to crumble, but its not due to lack of contributions, which everyone has been great about. There has been some changes to the top 10, most notably DR. Axcelea, a friend from my assault static has overtaken 'Admin Girl' at the number 3 spot. 'Admin Girl' had her parent's credit card taken away, apparently, and has pared down her Diet Coke consumption accordingly.

At the risk of sounding too much like the ffxi wiki situation, i was planning on running my site to the very end of the program, and if I got extra points I was going to redeem them for random crap (t-shirts, hats, etc.) and give them to my top contributors (if they are willing to give me their mailing address). Again, thanks for all the support guys, and keep submitting those codes!

Just started school today so my Vault consumption should rise. Sucks about the Wii being taken down, but maybe they'll put it back up or something.

Damn, sorry to hear that evilbau. I'll keep submitting as I receive them. Do they have any Coke shirts available? I wouldn't mind one if you had some leftover points.

Yes, it sucks. Totally ruined my plans.

I'm honestly tempted to just cash out the points for merch and send em out to everyone who helped and just say fuck it, i'll buy the wii. But I can't betray my original vision. Whatever the case, I'll probably do some elaborate bartering thing to get my wii through whatever prizes I get through this. As for the leftover points at the end, I'll probably ask for mailing addresses either through PM here or through email address if you put it in the form (thats why I put that field in there originally, but at that time I didn't really have a plan to reward people who helped).

I coded it so if you put in your email address it will update your profile even if you didn't put it there originally. In any case, they do have a ton of different shirts of various point values so at the end i'll pick up some of those.

I've been trying to find at stores one of those plain red t-shirts with the white coca-cola writing. It's probably available online so I'll buy it.

    edit: sweet, found it: http://www.coca-colastore.com/coke/coke ... o_Tee.html

Here's what I think you should do. Did you hear about that guy who had a giant oversized paperclip and ended up bartering it for different items on craigslist? His ultimate goal was a house and after a year or two he got one.

You could do something less involved to get your Wii I suppose.

Thats a good idea, but it probably won't take much to trade up to a wii with giftcards, i don't want to really go to CL for that, I'll probably hit up my friends or family since they are cool with that and i'm sure some of them will shop at those places anyway.

The trading up to a house thing sounds pretty cool, it reminds me of my days playing competitive magic where some of the hardcore traders/collectors would try to trade something crappy initially (say a trash rare) up to one of, or a complete power 9, which I believe some ppl did. I was always a player and didn't care about collections but I always thought the concept was cool

    Final Stretch!

Less than 10% left to go

There were a bunch of codes that were put in incorrectly over these months that I could not figure out, and I donated them to Fatwallet in this thread:

    http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/message ... start=3050

Prize selection is getting worse as more times goes on, they have taken off all the DS systems and anything sorta cool (to me at least).

I just wanted to thank everyone again who has been helping me, I'm almost done

Doesn't really apply to yours, but I'm in the same boat as you are...

After seeing your thread back in August, and seeing what they had up available, I figured I could at least pull off a Wii Game or something. So I started saving...

Now I here I sit, 1260 points, and my game is gone >.>
    Figures doesn't it.

Ah well, probably just let the wife go dig around and find some crap.

    Hey Evilbau,

A friend of mine said he has been collecting Poweraid caps that were later accepted for Coke Rewards points. It could be risky, but perhaps Coke will have another run sometime next year. You could try just sitting on the points and if they re-up the prize pool maybe you can be the first to grab any cool gear they add.

Actually they just announced that they are extending the deadline to January 31, 2009 so I am in the process of deciding whether to wait for them to put better prizes or just redeem them. In any case this is good news so my website will be up for a while longer!

This morning I reached my goal! In total it took about 4 and a half months from start to finish. Although I reached my initial goal, I can't get a Wii (so sad) and still haven't come up with an alternative plan. Just because I reached my goal is no reason for me to stop so I'm going to keep the site going as the program has been extended to January 31, 2009. I will stop bumping this thread but you can always check my site to see how successful my little project has been.

Although BG contributed points is not a large % of the points, every bit helps so I want to thank (once again) everyone who helped.

    Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiii!
