Another "date" with SE (for 1 hour ^.^)

Topic: Linkshells

I would like to see updates to linkshell functionality.

As a simple first step, they could just make the linkshell menu similar to the friends menu. This would allow....

Breaking or Promoting of pearls even when members are offline or offpearl.
Sending of messages to members.

As an advanced upgrade, I would like to see a Linkhouse portal similar to the Moghouse portal. What Linkhouse you enter is dependant on which linkshell you have on. The Shellholder for the linkshell could purchase upgrades and manipulate furniture placement similar to moghouses.

Possible upgrades from Whitegate architect....

Nomad Moogle for access to equipment.
A bazaar NPC where the Shellholder or Sackholder can put up items free or at special price for members.
Special furniture that is Linkhouse only, like HNM trophies. Crafted from new HNM drops.
An entrance hall.
Meeting room
Private office or Shellholder/sacks
Moghouse shortcut
Crafting rooms
Gardens
Chocostables
NPC that teleports to crags or cities for a fee
Lots of new furnishings for crafters to make

Of course the Linkhouse itself and all of its upgrades would cost a huge amount of gil and possibly special requirements. (i.e. in order for the teleport NPC to teleport to tavnazia you might need to beat Diabolos in Dynamis Tavnazia and get the teleport orb key item.)

If you want the HNM Kings to really be feared (read:annoying) make then pop anywhere in the dungeon (ie, behe roams all of qufim) and make the pop times random.... And then add lasers.

Shitty math aside, it is nice to have another graphic to show them. Problem is they might make them pop at ANY TIME in the 3 1/2 hour period, so we 'wont want to afk anymore.'

Also, the AFK intervals would be 28 minutes each (going with your time of 2 minute active periods), not 30.

And yeah, I'm not sure how to phrase this to SE to impress upon them that no, we wouldn't prefer to have to focus for 3-hour blocks instead. 21-hour exact repops is a pretty hot idea, I think, though they'd make it largely impossible to keep something in NA/JP/EU time for very long. But I'm not sure whether that's bad or not.

Exactly what I was thinking stop wasting our time. We know it's going to pop and be killed, there is no point in waiting up to three hours for the NM to appear. Less Windows more timed pops like Shikigami Weapon.

The sidebar is kind of awkward, but I think its really important that SE understands that there's a bigger problem with Kings than just being afk for 90% of the window. Three camps x three hours each = 9 hours EVERY day just spent camping these mobs... That's awful. If someone can think of a better way to communicate this or you think it should be a different size to change its importance or something... lemme know. Humm.

I don't know if you can squeeze this question in.. and it seems more relevant to (some) NA players, but... since the PS3 has been released, NA players who wish to start FFXI with the PS2 version (on the PS3) won't need to get a HDD unit anymore. Are there plans to release a PS2 version of FFXI without the HDD bundle? I would like to ask this because PC users get all the advantages with the cheaper startup disks but PS2 players who would like to join the game have immensely high startup costs.

Might as well give new players a taste of endgame. To directly compare it would have a similar window to kings but noone would know TOD. And only one person could claim and kill it. Additionally, Riddle would have Ridill drop rate, so chances are across all servers 2-3 would have one drop. Consolation prize could be "Defeat" Movement speed down boots with no buffs?

What they should do is ninja an item called "Riddle" with 100% chance of dropping from Fafnir and same image. Imagine all of the disappointment on the first day. (And it can drop along with a Ridill, so there's a chance of "OMFG 2 RIDLEZ".)

Each would drop a 'signature' eq, which has enchantments that dispense fireworks..
each one would give different fireworks.. for example Fafnear's Riddle weapon would dispense "Fafnir's Decoy", a 'firework' that conjures up an image of Fafnir, then getting voked.
