All the achievements are for are completing the main story, and the questlines that go with the guilds and Arena. Don't know about Shivering Isles though. I just got it the other day, it's a lot of fun, especially the Arena.

i kind of want to get the achievements for 360, but i heard it looks much much better for pc (with mods and whatnot). I only want to play the game once through. Are the 360 graphics/models particularly bad? Anyone got any advice?

I think they look just fine as long as you stay in first person. Going into third person makes the game look really bad in my opinion, but I've never seen pictures/video/played it on PC so I really don't have anything to compare it to. It's an amazing looking game, but if you want quick achievements just rent TMNT or something lol.

i'm not looking for the points per se, but you know someone can look and see 'oh he beat oblivion'. the points themselves don't really matter to me. i like the idea that it keeps track of how i did in a game in a way that is easy to view.

and thanks for you opinion. The PC screenshots look amazing from what i've seen, and from what I understand, dramatically changes the gameplay also.

Yeah this was pretty cool. Although I do wish they had kept the original games from the N64 like Beach and Heist, the class-based modes in the game are pretty decent. It's not a GREAT multiplayer game but it's a good way to kill a few hours.

The Xboxlive arcade in the coming months will be getting some great games. There'll be Street Fighter II Turbo HD, which is a remake of, obviously, SF2T. The sprites will all be redone and they're being animated by the guys at Udon comics. What you can expect in terms of sprites:

Obviously the HD is on the left, comparing to the old SNES Akuma sprite.

Supposed to be downloadable on XBL Arcade by this holiday season.
EDIT: Oh, and also PS3 marketplace.

On top of that there'll be a new HD version of Puzzle Fighter, and I think a direct port of Fatal Fury Special.

    Re: Xbox "Must Have" Games.

Updated main list, but I have only tried like 3 of the games (only had the sysem for like 2 days now >.>).

One question though, can I hook up any keyboard to my xbox for FFXI? Or do I have to get the xbox wireless off the site?

Loving the games and the system at the moment. And even more impressed with media extender, since I basically just networked both computers and my TV/xbox and can look at all my pictures, movies, and songs in HD on my TV, accessed straight through my network off my main CPU and viewed by xbox. Which means I can now find a cheap place to DL HD movies and just save them to my desktop and watch them via my xbox/TV <3. Going to be fun trying to save a 10 gig movie to my hardrive >.>. Any suggestions?

Yes you can use a USB keyboard in the xbox for FFXI, and also the dashboard for writing and sending text messages to your xboxlive friends.

I really like the XBLA games. Castlevania and original TMNT for the win! Disc based I think Fight Night Round 3 and Splinter Cell: Double Agent are my favorite games not mentioned so far. I'm like you though, I've only had mine since June.

Oh. How could I forget? Hitman: Blood Money is a really fun game if you're a fan of the series, or just "stealthy" type games in general. That, along with Oblivion was one of the only games I actually kept playing to get all 1000 achievement points for it since I was actually still entertained while getting those points.

Hitman: Blood Money was a lot of fun, yeah... but damn it's really hard to not kill people if you want to go for the top rank or whatever. I guess game character people piss me off too much. But there's a mission during Mardi Gras that's really fun to let loose with a gun if you're bored.

Fight Night Round 3 for the xbox 360 is my favorite fighting game since Street Fighter Alpha 3.

    That's right, I said it.

Suppose we shouldn't forget about X-Box Live arcade either (especially considering half of the list of suggestions aren't even out yet). Geometry Wars is always a favorite. Bomberman is great for Live play (or even local multiplayer). Symphony of the Night and TMNT Arcade are great classics, too, and Turtles also has online play.

Just don't bother with either of the Contra games. I remember loving the originals, but these are just terrible.

Demos are free for those off Live, too. Speaking of which, demos for Stranglehold (John Woo game, based off Hard Boiled) and Eternal Sonata (RPG) are up, both due out in the next couple weeks.

Forza Motorsport 2 is really awesome, a must buy if you're somewhat into racing games.
