Sipar shield for /NIN tanking

So, not even with fairly jacked shield skill does even Aegis break the 65% limit. This is very interesting. I might have to take a more serious approach to testing this now, since this could prove to being a very fun toy. If the percent increase is actually more than 20%, even something like 25%, it could prove to be quite useful. I wonder where the wiki got their numbers from, or if anyone has already done this testing...

Test it against other Buckler-type shields first, and tell me what you come up with for your proc rates.

Sorry for the necrobump, figured I'd not make a new post with my question much in line with the topic here.

Sipar, as claimed by Wiki, has a 100% shield proc rate. Any truth to this-- hardly makes sense for anything to be 100% ? I searched the forums and didn't see any tests or whatnot, and would like some clarification.

If that is the case, why isn't there much love given to such a shield in situations where elegy/slow/haste/marches are not all present?

And lol, 100%, I don't think I've ever felt the need to use sipar, ever. If you don't have elegy / slow / haste / marches I just stack damage reduction and VIT+, jelly haute askar -> koenig -> shield set.

The shield is NOT 100% block rate. Got one a few weeks back and I went to Sea Serpent Grotto and pulled one of them Mindgazers behind that door. I let it come to me (I was PLD/BLM) and it hit me twice. No block. A few more hits later and I was blocking some.

Mind you, it does seem to block more times than usual, but seeing as it's a buckler type shield anyway which blocks quite often it was really hard to tell the difference unless I do some tests properly.
