Radical Simplification help...

I am trying to help my little brother in intermediate algebra on radical simplification but its been over 5 years since I did one and I am lost. Can anyone help me or show me where to look to get help? I'll post the problem and if you can solve it please explain it as well. Thanks

Square root of 98x^4y^6

Sorry if thats confusing but those who are familiar with TI calcs should understand what im trying to write...

so, that means the answer is:

7 x^2 y^3 with a square root of 2 left over

How did you get the square root of 2 left over? Also can you explain how you did that? I am having the hardest time trying to figure this ancient shit out...

simplify the radical:

98, Find a square root you can take out.. in this case 7. Because 7x7 is 49, and 49*2 is 98.

So that's how the 7 ends up on the outside.

For example,sqrt(32 could be simplified to 4*sqrt(2

In other words, you just halve the exponents and square root the coefficients. Since a calculator can tell you that the square root of 98 is 9.899 (or 7*sqrt(2)), the answer is what he said.
