In this month's version update, players will find a plethora of new items and synthesis recipes, including weapons and items with all-new graphics!


August's version update is set to introduce an assortment of both new items and synthesis recipes to Vana'diel. We've also created all-new graphics for some of the new weapons and gear!

In anticipation of the version update, we'd like to give you a sneak peek at some of the new equipment crafted by the savage beastmen you've come to know and love from the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion.

I don't care if you are because this update detail was particularly lame, although the QQ hat looks kind of cute on hume f. Dunno if anyone else will care though.

Well then.

Here's my prediction for what these new items will be:

*These hats. Bonus points if the recipes call for a craft with 2 completely uncomplimentary subs.
*Solo gear for DRG.
*A body piece for some job that doesn't need one that's harder to obtain than something that's better in almost every situation.
*Fuck MNK.
*An armor set that would be pretty good if it weren't WAR/DRK exclusive.
*Two amazingly useless PUP attachments. Let's see, should be Thunder and Water this time, right? Shock Spikes that activates at 30% HP and a bugged attachment that makes your puppet overload more.
*A new DD scythe for BLM.
*A new recipe for Imperial Silk.
*Strong wind-aligned furniture. Recipe contains khroma ore.
*Imperial Platinum and Luminium coins.

These hats are nothing but town gear for tarus. If by some miracle they actually have useful stats on them, it's the head slot, making something better than what's available isn't likely.

Around this time two years ago they had a pre-update announcement that mostly just had beastman hats featured and the responses were similar (half "this is going to be lame", half "I want a goblin hat") but the update itself was awesome with like 50 new NMs including KV and the sea system as well as the CoP reward rings etc, so that's my prediction, if we're making predictions.

Edit: That update also coincided with the completion of the CoP mission storyline.

Could this mean, that the newer weapons and armor that are still kinda "new" but already in the game, might get a new look? Because some of the looks for perdu weapons suck.
