Funny you should ask, the wife and I ate Sushi last night and got shit faced. My personal favorites are Tako (Octopus), Chu Toro (Fatty Tuna) and Squid (Forgot the name, sorry). They have an awesome taste and not all slimy and disgusting what so ever.

My prissy, Bratz loving, Hannah Montanah wannabe 7 year old daughter is an absolute animal in regards to those 3 types of sushi, if she can do it then I have full confidence in you my friend. But if I had to choose just one, don't leave until you have tried the Tako. You won't regret it.

Everyone calls this last one something different:
Baked scallops shredded and mixed with mayonnaise and caviar served over rice filled rolls.

Lots of people mentioned Tako, that's good, but you could try Baby Tako too which is always popular with the ladies.

at the place where i go to eat sushi, there's a Tempura Bagel Roll, badass roll, and also anything w/ eel sauce is good.

I love tako, unagi, and tuna sashimi. I am not a big fan of rolls, mostly because I don't really like kelp.

California roll, spider roll, (maybe only in new mexico but) New mexican roll. NM roll is pretty much a california roll but it has green chilie.

This? I don't think there's a name associated with it. When I had it they just said what was in it.

honestly, there are no sushi bars where i live. fuckin hate mississippi... but on the rare occasion i do get sushi... its usually only like tuna or salmon....

mind explaining what a spider roll is? surely you dont eat spiders.

Spider roll - deep fried soft shell crab, popular among non fish eaters as well.

Can't ever go wrong with Omekase at a good->great sushi joint. You get to meet the chef and experience shit not on the menu but it will put a big dent in your wallet :D

So with that said:

Spicy tuna roll

Maguro (tuna)

Toro (fatty tuna - i think the sushi chef said it's from around the stomach/belly of the fish)

Sake (salmon)

BTW, when you go into a sushi place, make sure you sit right up at the bar so you can watch what these guys are doing. Any sushi chef worth his salt will be worth his weight in gold telling you what the day's special is, and what is freshest. Having a sushi chef on your side (after going to him again and again and he gets to know you) is never a bad thing.
