I got my WHM @73 now but started to get bored. Started leveling RDM and fun so far. Another thing I also do would be fish. Some people find It boring, but Its actually relaxing to me atleast also can't go wrong with helping new people. As someone above said, we were all new at one time.... most of the time its fun atleast 8)

1st thing: Eliminate every form of grinding from your daily routine (unless you're masochist) and keep it to the minimum. This mean no merit, xp, farming money and gears. Repeating the same task for hours on "auto-mode" is depressing.

2nd thing: Find friends who likes the game, and do random events with them. Assault, salvage, BC you havent done before, new missions..etc. Don't do them for the reward, just for the win. If it's too easy, just low man it and give you artificial challenge and try to push your skill at their limit.
One thing I often do to kill time is to answer people /sh in town asking for help. Can meet some nice people at time, have argument with noob (if you love arguing like I do >_>) and doing those old mission is kinda fun

The only thing boring to me about FFXI is (RotZ) Dynamis. Everyone seems to want to do it, and so I torture myself twice a week to put up with it.

I love camping kings because I can read or watch TV or play other games for 3 hours, only checking back for a couple min every 30 minutes.

If FFXI is the *only* thing in your house that you have to keep you entertained, then I could see it being very boring.

If nothing else, its an excuse to get away from the computer for a while without missing out on anything.

Oh shit, speaking of work, just remembered I have to start studying soon for my PE license exam for the next three months. A study schedule came with the books to outline what I should be studying each day. I'm going to assume that a couple hours a night is enough, but I haven't looked at the review books, yet.

Well, I'll add that to the list of things to do while camping kings.

Just because I am logged on does not mean I am playing FFXI. It means if something comes up worth my attention, I will probably stop what I was otherwise doing and play FFXI. Otherwise, fuck your RDM/BLU.

FFXI is Instant Messenger +1 for me.

Despite what anyone says, no, hitting a few macros over and over for hours does not equal skill.

I'm able to play 'skillfully' while only paying half attention and talking to my friends.

It's the ability to play with other people that makes the game fun.

Pretty Fun: Dynamis-Glacier, Limbus (save some Temenos), most Assaults

Moderate Fun: "organized" sky/sea runs, Dynamis Bastok/Sandy, KSNM, BCNM

Fucking Awful: Bad merit parties, unorganized sky/sea runs, camping kings, Dynamis Windurst, Temenos North, Uleguerand ENMs, Evade and Escape (Assault)

My LS is mainly sea and sky. i have long since gotten everything i needed from there so its pretty much a social shell for me. I get along with every1 and joke and shit. I have an assult static along with a limbus and assult group. I consider all of these as events. They used to be fun, but the more i do them the more agrivating it gets.

i think the best time ive every had playing this game was during un-capped Ballista. no1 does that stuff anymore.
I liked soloing avitars and stuff like that but lately i just can't get motivated enough to do it.

Ive gotten a craft to the 80's but skill ups are fusterating and few and far between. I realize all the money im dumping into it is a waste considering the current state of crafting in general.

Invite for my midlevel jobs are few and far between. making pt's is a pain when the right jobs aren't LFG.

i don't mean to come off like im bitching about the game. I love this game (and hate it too sometimes). I just want to know what ppl do for fun besides schedueled events.

skilling up is my fav thing to do but the only thing I have left to skill is dagger @205 so far

2nd would be lving jobs to 37, only PLD BRD and PUP still @1 heh

3rd I guess is merriting, 15 to go until all groups capped
