Re: RMT using World Transfer to make money?

Tarucerbe showed up for about 8 days in July on Cerberus and sold a whole bunch of Bomblets... then got banned, I think.

No record on any other server, unless name changed of course.

just think if rmt would send a mule to a cheap khroma ore server loaded with gil then transfer the ore to another account on the same server then transfer that one loaded with cheap khroma ore to an expensive server like odin and profit like mad. Khroma will never drop too much in price unless SE adds a bunch of new methods to get it ;x

Re: RMT using World Transfer to make money?

They wouldn't lose any money on the server transfer. I doubt as if they are bring just one item accross and selling it.

For a character that moves server's it's what, 25 dollars? I'm sure with proper planning of items you can make at least 20-30 million per character depending on the items/economy which would get an rmt site about 700-1000 dollars. Even factoring in the cost of a new copy of the game for reg codes/12.95 for the month + paying their staff to get the items, that's a hefty profit for maybe a weeks worth of work. And that's just one account.

If you actually click on the links for those characters it takes you to their ffxiah history. One of them (I forget which one) did exactly that with Khroma ores. It seems to be a pretty wide variety of items though, ranging from Amemet +1 to Eris' Earrings to Khroma Ores and even Vermillion Cloaks. This definitely has the potential to be very profitable for them. was looking at some of the differences in prices and if they were to buy a Vermy from one of the cheaper servers (not even the cheapest) and thensell it on one of the more expensive servers they could easily make 250k per sale. Even if they were to make a brand new mule character with only 50 mog house spaces and 30 inventory spaces they could easily make 16 million gil with those 80 spaces and that only requires them to make 100k profit per item. The potential is there to make much much more, as Bercus pointed out. Of course this won't last forever because at some point prices will even out across the servers but they will make a shitload of gil in the months it takes to do that.

Looking at those buying histories, I do not know why people seem to be sure that they are buying stuff and server transferring with it. They could just as well be buying it for high-level crafter bots to churn out gear at a profit or holding it to sell higher later.

A smart way for RmT to make money. However, look at how many rmT are in the game now. I see less and less rmT, seems SE mass bannings are working. SE needs to continue this and eventually RmT will just move from FFXI and stick to other games. Now SE just needs to fix the non-rmt fish bots and i'll be happy. :D

50m gil is $3,000 now. That to me says it's working. This time last year 50m gil was $300.

No, that post was neither facetious nor sarcastic. Both explanations that I put forth are plausible. It could very well be yet another monopolization scheme. There are a lot of people with the word "Taru" starting their name, it is not a unique naming scheme.

Re: RMT using World Transfer to make money?

From the pattern of what they are buying where and selling where, I think it's pretty clear they're worldshifting goods.

For example, eris earring +1: bought for 600k each on one server, sold for 1.8m each on another. But the one selling hq eris has no apparent source (not buying nemesis earrings, for example), and the one buying them has no apparent destination.

That their names follow a similar scheme is enough assume they could be connected...after seeing the dates and items in their sales history its pretty clear these dots are connected.

    soon to be implemented:

    It's obvious now though.

    They're all gilsellers.

The pattern of names is really creepy like Aurik pointed out though. I looked at some of their histories and they seems to bounce around on what they bought/sold, but everything was consistent with each buyer (IE: One's only selling Eris' Earrings, one's only buying haub+1s...stuff like that).

Re: RMT using World Transfer to make money?

There's also the interesting fact that 2 Brass Jadagnas+1 were purchased by these tarutaru on seperate servers and then mysteriously a few days later 2 are sold on unicorn, the priciest server for the item.

Its also apparent that this person knows about FFXIAH, since some of the price histories are now limited / locked.

Re: RMT using World Transfer to make money?

the "scary" part is that even with the $25 + $keys + etc, worldshifting goods is still profitable (im assuming it is).

    Damned gilbuyers .

Haven't really read the whole thread so if that was posted already, the slowpoke is on me >.>

Re: RMT using World Transfer to make money?

It is much cheaper to do cross-server item exchange than buy gil. (And theoretically it's a legit way to transfer RL cash into MMO gil)

I can buy 10m gil worth of Asura goods and send them to <server> where they sell for ~15m. (cost: $25). I transfer this wealth to a new account on the server (cost: $4 for base FFXI for a new trial account). I then buy goods and transfer the dummy account back to Asura (cost: $25) and sell the goods for ~20m.

1 week's effort, $54, 10 million gil. IGE wants $55 for 1 million; I could sell 3-4m to IGE to cover my costs and end up 7m ahead.

They're probably deleting and starting over anytime they shift due to 90 day lockout, so there's saved money due to the fact they dont have to purchase id's and shift back.

Re: RMT using World Transfer to make money?

    So it goes:

    -Make mule in Asura
    -Buy goods in Asura
    -Transfer
    -Profit
    -Store gil on other char
    -Delete mule from asura
    -Do while(1)

Re: RMT using World Transfer to make money?

like i said earlier in the thread i'm surprised no one has tried this for khroma ore because on some servers its around 200k while on others are 350-400k and sell fast.
