Tartarus is fine to me =p I just love the amount of strategy the game required. It's not a complete joke like 99% of RPG'sOriginally Posted by Meteora
It does require a lot of strategy, but sometimes you can just get killed by insane cheapness. Ambush + AoE death on block 3 can just be retarded, lolOriginally Posted by Vinen
The fact you can't control your other characters royally pisses me off. On the first couple of floors I could Bufu a group of mobs; as in bufu one, bufu another and so on until I can do an All Out Attack. Then when I really need to do it like when a group is weak to fire, Iori will Agi one of them and then just hit him again with his extra turn. Sucks so hard.
That fits his personality >.>Originally Posted by Ziegus
Once your SEES S. Link gets high enough (I think after the 2nd full moon), you can switch your party strategy to "Knock Down", which will cause them to not do what you described.
I agree, the JP VA weren't that much better anyway, on par with ENG easily. I think it's gotten to the point where you can tell good JP VA from bad. Only JP Voice that was good was Mercedes (it was so cute). I don't mind the VA in Persona 3, it sounds like they have to delay a bit because of the long winded way Japanese people speak.Originally Posted by Elcura
Also, my friend just passed his mid-terms in the game, he even asked me a couple of questions[/quote]
Only a week late: I think Velvet's VA was appropriate to her character too. And really the only parts of Odin Sphere that are from "norse mythology" are the name Odin and the word Valkyrie (and possibly Balor). Both bear almot no resemblance to their mythological namesakes, and more importantly the rest of the game's cosmology/backstory is completely original. Although the English VAs might have been good, they were forced to talk too slowly and overdramatize every single word. That's a lot harder for me to listen to when the words aren't just pretty sounds.
I personally didn't mind Odin Sphere's va, and I ain't going to go apeshit over jap va lol, give me a break. Persona's va isn't half bad, however, I despise not being able to have complete control over the other party members...
I got this game last Friday and have played for a few hours this week. So far I'm enjoying it, but I'm still a little worried that the constantly-random single dungeon may become boring after a while...it reminds me of Dark Cloud, .hack and Evolution in that manner, and those games got boring fast.
I haven't played Odin Sphere yet, but I have played some Atlus games with voice acting before and they really sucked. So far Persona 3's voice acting has been great, no complaints so far.
Quick question, do the characters get tired more slowly as they level up? I've only ventured into Tartarus four times so far, but I can't make it past the 2nd floor without my characters getting tired.
Yeah.. the more you go into the dungeon the higher your stamina becomes.
Just gotta keep going in, and eventually you can go further and further. (Though it also could be purely related to the moon cycles, wheras each one you go through the longer you can stay in.. but Iono)
As a side note.. I love this game.. particularly since it makes no excuses.. if you dont pay attention you WILL die.. and hard ^^
Just go in on half moon's or new moons or the day before a full moon... you never get tired! I honestly only go in once or twice a month max. Usually clear to the second boss on the first run then complete all the quests I didn't yet on my second run.Originally Posted by tyraravenlocke

Since I finished my finals, I've had some time to play. Holy crap, some of the mobs are freaking cheaters. I just beat the "sleeping table," which is 135th floor., and it was such a bastard -________________________- Had to farm crystal mirrors or w/e to beat it -.-
Question for those who are ahead. When "befriending" other females, will I get an upside down card even if I maxed it? Chihiro is maxed <3 But I wanna try Mitsuro, Fuuka, and Yuka's card too >_>
Just wait until some shit the boss of the game can pull if you are unlucky -.-.Originally Posted by Meteora
Just a warning, leveling past the low 70's makes the boss incredibly easy. I made the mistake of wondering into the "hidden" dungeon and getting 65k xp out of one battle -.- 4 Monsters + Die for Me + 10 XP Card Double Up 7 XP Card = LOL and my character more or less ended up at 82 within 30 minutes of goofing around... outright destroyed the boss of the game.
<3 Mitsuru
Die for Me! Is indeed fake, but nothing is faker than Lucifer and Satan's Armageddon that does 9999 damage to all foes, then getting your HP/SP fully healed after a battle with Lucifer's Victory Cry. Though I did love using Lucifer, it made me feel like I was game sharking. Going to play FES soon, I hear Lucifer retains the SMT III form he had, good god that sounds epic.
Edit: Found a picture.

I maxed Yuko and Mitsuru's. Mitsuru's Rank 7->8 Event is probably the best S.link event in the game. Fucking hillarious watching her flipout on someone. Yuko is by far the worst fucking S.link to raise. JFC I couldn't finish her until October because I missed a few chances to talk to her early on.Originally Posted by MisterBob
Ight, thanks for the heads up. Time to seduce the other ladies then ;x Anyways, I won't use those omnipotent personas unless I run out of strategies and patience. And where is this "secret" area you speak of? I probably won't wander there since it clearly breaks the balance ;x
For some reason I never finished FF12 it's just collecting dust, and I'm addicted to this game![]()
Behind where Koromaru (<3 Koromaru) and Aigis stand there should be a door in setup area of Tartarus. Once you've reached the final blockade (One you cannot pass until January 31st) you can enter that door. Behind that door is Monad Depths, 10 levels of assrape... your ass being the one raped. Normal physical attacks from these monsters often deal 500. But, you can end up reaping the rewards of massive XP. During your second play through after you have completed Request 55? you can accept a request from Elizabeth to face her in combat on floor 10 of Monad Dephts. It's fucking hard, you more or less have to go 1 on 1. Your main character vs her. If you Null or Reflect anything she will instant kill you much like when you face the main character of Nocturne in Digital Devil Saga.Originally Posted by Meteora
JFYI, when you level up from 98 to 99 the game more or less advances you to 999hp and 999sp. It's kinda funny, I decided to push my main party to 99 since it only took an hour or two in there.
Ohh, you should take Yoko's to rank 4. This is required to access Tower (The easiest S.link to raise... also the only one avalible during the evening in non-FES releases). After you reach Rank 4 just talk to her and she will mention some old guy in the club. Magician (Unlocks Moon, I think), Hermit (Unlocks Devil), Hierophant (Unlocks Temperance) also unlock other Arcana's in the process of leveling them.
The 3 SEES females all require a certain one of your stats to be maxed. Fuuka requires max Courage, Yukari max Charm and Mitsuru max Intelligence. Although, they also require certain events to occur in the story for them to become datable. Fuuka being the earliest, followed by Yukari at the end of July? or August and then Mitsuru at the end of November. You should be able to easily do Fuuka (or the Justice one), Yukari and Mitsuru in one playthrough.
So I won't be able to access the dungeon during my first play? Prolly misunderstood, just woke up from a nap lol. And damn, I just noticed this:No wonder she doesn't want to "hang" around...Originally Posted by Vinen
No, you can access the hidden dungeon once you have reached the file blockaid in the game. You can do this on January 1st or 2nd? I forget when you can enter Tartarus again after the MAJOR event on December 31st. You just cannot fight Elizabeth until your second playthrough.Originally Posted by Meteora
