I just heard this suggestion and dont kill me if it's not that good...Provided the adjustments are decent...
Rune chopper( haste+9%)+ ares body+ refresh santion or just a rdm bored enough to refresh you= fun new haste setups?
ideally one could cap haste gear with turban, haidate and speed belt alone.

    It is possible...

But you are left using a weapon that has 36 less accuracy, 36 less attack, and no real useful 100 tp weapon skills.

Well, they were gonna fix or change some of the two-handed weaponskills weren't they? Might turn out we warriors get some good 100% TP weaponskills for our A+ weapons after all.

And where did you get the idea of losing 36 attack/accuracy? Did I miss something?

    Re: Battle System Adjustments (08/14/2007)

Rune Chopper has +5 Acc, on top of the skill difference of A+ versus Axe and Sword skills.

    Maneater is +5 Acc/18 Att
    Juggernaut is +30 Att

I would be surprised if Raging Rush didn't get tweaked, I'd think simply adding Crit Tp mod would do a shitton for Great Axe use.

So, really, where the hell does this -36 Acc/Att shit come from? Did you not skill your Great Axe?

    Re: Battle System Adjustments (08/14/2007)

I think he's referring to the idea of using ares body for the auto refresh combined with a lack of gaxe merits?
I just did some double checking on the latent on the chopper and it seems refresh alone is enough although getting sanction for the times when a rdm is slow at the ridiculous idea of refreshing a melee would be helpful.

ok assuming the person has e body they had better not be retarded enough to not use it but anyway this might be how he got the numbers...

    e body(20 acc)+ merits(16*0.9)-[A+ skill>A- skill](7*0.9)+???= 36 acc?

ok.. i still dont get it...
if my idea is completely stupid I can live with that but could you show some logic explaining why it's stupid so i can learn to never try anything similar again?

    I'm just retarded.

Every time I see rune chopper now I consider it from a DRK point of view.

The self perpetuating refresh took me down that path too...

Ares/Plastron + Parade Gorget + Sanction = no mp loss.

Ah, yeah, I had fun with Rune Chopper as War/Rdm in besieged a lot, use the MP doubler, sanction refresh, hasso, turban, dusk gloves, the various Ethers and whatnot, gave a whole bunch of time swingin like a psycho.

First thing I thought when I saw Are's body was "Hey, Rune Chopper!" though I've started calling it The Juicer, since I briefly contemplated raising cooking so I could synth juices from stackable materials and keep myself juiced up.

Yeah, my bad, so used to having Hasso, I did do Besieged several times with just Sanction refresh, mp items, and my Turban, and hasso
    and it worked well.

/Rdm was what I did before I got Sam the last bit to 37.

    Re: Battle System Adjustments (08/14/2007)

Geez, they tease us about job adjustments on Tuesday and then fail to produce the topic yesterday or today. Oh well, time for a little speculation. I was having this discussion with my LS the other night but I was curious about other thoughts:

    What jobs REALLY need adjusting?

PUP is a no-brainer and COR could use a few boosts to their DDing. BST would benefit from a few tweaks as well. What about the rest? WAR, SAM, DRG, and DRK all stands to benefit from the new grips and (possibly) WS modifications. BLU remains a powerhouse (with one of the best 2 hr combos in the game too - Cannonball + AL ftw). BLM, WHM, and RDM should get some boosts from the grips. SMN could use a few boosts in the lower levels DDwise but its fine as it is,really. NIN is fine as a powerful DD/tank and PLD has been tweaked a ton already. THF performs as it should. RNG has been 'fixed' somewhat. BRD and MNK do exactly what they should.
(all analysis are my own opinion so I appreciate any insight to how wrong some of these statements are)

Perhaps new abilities for select jobs are coming? I'm hoping for a 'Dance' ability for PUP to share maneuvers with party members (longshot I know but it would be hilarious to see PUP go from least desirable job for exp/HNMs to one of the most wanted :D )

It is odd that they deviated from the usual Tuesday/Thursday pattern. (Unless they plan to make a rare Saturday announcement.)

Yeah, they tend to that once per update. Last time, they mentiioned about the new merc rank on Tuesday and that was it until Einherjar was announced the following week. Still, these job adjustments can be tantalizing.

    More fun:
    Dance
    Learned at PUP lvl 35
    Duration: 1 Minute - Recast: 2 Minutes
    --Shares Manuevers with Party Members--
As Main, Dance shares ALL manuevers with party members. As /PUP, Dance shares one manuever with party members. I would love to see BRD/PUP parties lol

Personally, I'd like to see a couple new class-defining un-sub-able spells for RDM that make us more desirable for something other than refresh bitch. Sure, we have the tier 2s now, but in my mind they don't count because they are just upgrades of currently existing spells and everyone else got tier 2s at the same time. What spells do we have after 37 that some other job already has? Hmmm...yah... Refresh. =/

I don't want anything that's game-breaking, but I'd like to have something for RDM that would make RDM more desirable for something other than the BLM party for LS events (hint hint nudge nudge). 8)

RDM is so versatile though. They are masters at enfeebling, are fantastic soloers, and RDM/NIN makes one heck of a tank.

Replying to Toth, and dont want to quote his whole thing again:

I think thief could use a boost in one main area: don't give so much tp to a mob per swing, (get 4.5 per hit, give 7.5 on average is kind of ridiculous), regardless of damage, since on high armor monsters you might hit for 5-12 yet still give it 7.5 tp a hit low damage ratings on daggers getting boosted did help, but thief doesnt get the atk rating a war does, or high dmg of a 2h weap to overcome armor ratings very well. Subtle blow or a change in the way monsters gain tp by getting hit would help tremendously imo.

    That's not my point... >_>

When was the last time SE actually gave something unique to RDM? Yah, refresh, and before that, RDMs weren't really desirable at all (then again, there weren't any HNMs at that time).

I'd like to see PLD get a single unique spell of any kind, un-sub-able or not...

    Flash 2, Holy 2, Enlight, Banish 0.5, anything. :-/

But to be honest, I could deal just with getting Shell 4 at 75 so I can quit begging a RDM or WHM for it.

Ah, I see what you mean now. Hmm...any other unique spells will probably be given to a new mage class before RDM, I'm sorry to say.
