    I also hope Sams get atleast 1 AoE weapon skill (for farming) and a multi-hit weapon skill.
    May be good, but I *really* doubt they will be changing much more than the damage formula for some WS's (or changing their type, i.e. making Penta TP>Crit rather than TP>DMG). A lot of your ideas seem nice, but would require a lot of major overhauls, and I think is probably way beyond the spectrum of this update, and more akin to wishful thinking that comes around when contemplating new jobs or other such additions ^^;;

    Completely untrue. There are plenty of attack+ gear choices available. If anything, Penta Thrust should be changed to a critical mod based on TP.

    this doesn't happen. maths: two numbers greater than zero when multiplied together will never result in a number that is less than or equal to zero.

    (.00000000001 * .00000000001 = 0.000000000000000000001)

    in the case of BZ: even assuming this stacks in you've got:

    current BZ speed fraction (what, .07?) * .97(delay -3%) = ~ .068 (so two thousandths of a percent gain.)

    in the case that it stacks linearly with desperate blows, you *might* see as much as a 1% percent gain. (I'd have to run the numbers again)

    as a mage, im hoping that the grips function like shields and not sub-weapons in dual-wield for macro-writing

    making a macro to include swapping in 2 weapons, the 2nd dependant on the first, is lame (losing your grip everytime you change a staff </3)

    Something tells me that this update, along with the statement from the last interview about the new expansion and the revamping of the battle system, is just the first of many major changes they are going to make. It also points to the likelihood of at least 1 or 2 of the new jobs being a 2handed weapon class.

    All this talk of horribly wrong speculation every time an update patch is posted amuses me...

    If you don't already have a multi-hit weapon skill, you're not getting one. If you have one and it sucks, it might be better now. That's really all.

    Now to level a 2H weapon job so I can still merit... Oh wait, I have BRD. I still win. ^.^

    Ohgawd, no /NIN. My RDM merit futures cringe at the idea of having to cast Cure IV once every 5 seconds because thick-headed melee asleep at their Auto Attack button have no concept of alternating Seigan and Hasso.

    at this point the only way to 'unseat' bard (if that was ever SE's intention) would be to make gear with ridiculous bonuses and a latent of: "no songs".

    like say, a pair of red kotes with latent effect: Attack+80. we can call them 'tone-deaf kote' or something.

    (and no, I'm not endorsing this. just would be an amusing line of gear if named properly)

    I sincerely doubt this is going to revolutionize meriting -- but I can sure hope its going to make trucking a GA around for other events not something you have to beg for.

    People won't suddenly stop using /NIN, they use it for the same reason MNK has used it: Defensive purposes. The only difference is DRK & WAR will have the option of also using it for offensive purposes.

    Because its all about damage, has nothing to do with survivability, or the fact that a single rdm can keep 3-4 melee alive with utsusemi.
