Notice, that's the actual Mjollnir not your Gullintani. So we've established that anyone can get a Mjollnir or Randgrith WS. So the only reason you'd upgrade a relic maul would be because you were retarded. I can tell you that after 4 years of playing there is no such thing as spare money less you bought gil (likely) or fish botted (unlikely since it seems you haven't been playing for that long).

And the idiotic argument above is inaccurate. Most linkshells don't rake in near enough currency for someone to upgrade a relic alongside others. It would have to be ONE relic and that would be considered a LS relic. Plus, you still have to get the attestations and fragments which also do require an LS to help you with. Regardless, it is an LS helping you and you wasting money in the end. Not to mention you are taking currency out or your server's system for people who are actually upgrading useful weapons or the shield.

It's not like Izzy has 100+3 smithing and a boatload of mules with other 100 crafts or anything. But you just keep going on making all your laughable assumptions about people you don't know like those on KI and Allakhazam. Just like all the people who examine me and then ask me what it's like to be IGEs favorite customer just because "omgz, I have wtfpwn gearz."

P.S. Every Aegis paladin I've seen has been made of total fail. I do love seeing them tank Tiamat for ten seconds then fall to the ground because not only do they eat shit, so does their linkshell that sells Tiamat's gaiters to fund the relics in the first place. Having an Aegis far and away does not make you a good paladin by any standard. I could probably tank with a wooden shield and do better than they do.

In my opinion, I would list the same for every relic in the game including Aegis. People upgrade what they want, it makes them happy in game.... then fine, more power to them.

These items take a extremely long time to complete.... and if you believe that a certain relic will help out killing some HNM, than that user needs to re-evaluate thier actual linkshell. Due to, if you cant kill lets say... Nidhogg without a Aegis Paladin, something is terribly wrong and the relic wont help you out.


In short, my opinion is All relics = Not needed, they are a very nice luxury to kill mobs quicker.... but not something thats "OMFG, Gimp for having or not having (Insert Relic here)"

So, here's the lowdown. I have 100 smithing, my girlfriend has 100 clothcraft, I have a 100 leathercraft mule, I have a friend who will synth any 100 bonecraft synth I need. I'm poor, I can't buy gil even if I wanted to. Which leads me to...

Second point: My ls has never funded anyone's relic, let alone my club. All money put toward my club has been money of my own. The only help I've received with my club is my girlfriend's money, and that's basically our money to split anyways. So, you can fuck off with your "what LS would upgrade a club" bullshit, because it's something I do in my spare time with my own money. You can say, "OH LOOK THAT'S THE REAL MJOLLNIR IN MY SCREENSHOT." but everyone knows you can dat edit in 10 seconds, which is probley why you cut out the chat log so we couldn't see "Retard readies Seraph Strike". So, there's your 2nd "fuck off" from me.

In response to Mithral, I agree that no relic is NEEDED. Everything my LS has killed in this game, (which is everything excluding AV) we've done with absolutely zero relic weapons or shield. It's not necessary, but it is definitely nice to have.

The Melds

As in basic rummy, a meld is a combination of cards from your hand which you place face up on the table, where it stays until the end of a hand. There are two types of combination which can be melded:

1. A group consists of three or four cards of the same rank, such as heartJ clubJ diamondJ. When more than one deck is used, the cards of a group must all be of different suits. spade6 spade6 heart6 is not a valid group.
2. A sequence consists of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit, such as heart5 heart6 heart7. An ace can count as low or high but not both at the same time. So diamondA diamond2 diamond3 diamond4 and clubQ clubK clubA are both valid sequences, but spadeK spadeA spade2 is not valid.

As well as melding complete combinations, players are allowed to meld cards which extend combinations which are already on the table. This is called laying off. The fourth card of the same rank can be added to a group of three, or extra consecutive cards of the same suit can be added to a sequence at either end. For example, if heart5 heart6 heart7 is already on the board, any player on their turn can add the heart4 or heart8 or both.

Sometimes, when laying off a card, there is more than one meld it could be attached to. In this case the player laying off must choose which meld to extend. For example, if there is a sequence club7 club8 club9 and a group diamond10 heart10 spade10 on the board, and you have a club10 in your hand, you can choose whether to add your club10 to the sequence or the group, but once it is played, it cannot be moved.

Example: A has put down heart5-heart6-heart7, B has put down club9-spade9-diamond9. B can lay off the heart8 on A's sequence. C can now put down the heart9 and must announce whether it is being added to the hearts run or to C's set of nines. If C added the heart9 to the heart run, D can now extend the run further by laying down the heart10. If C had announced the heart9 as belonging to the set of nines then of course it would not be legal to lay down the heart10 as an extension of the run, which is still only 5-6-7-8.

Jokers are wild, and can stand for any card in a meld, even a duplicate of a card that has already been melded by the same or another player. A player melding a joker must make it clear which rank it represents, and this cannot subsequently be changed. For example, you might meld club6 club7 joker as a sequence, and by putting the cards down in this arrangement you are specifying that the joker represents the club8. Later someone may lay off the club5 or club9 on this sequence, but they are not allowed to change the joker to a club5 so as to lay off a club4.

If you were to meld diamond9 and two jokers you would have to state whether it was meant to be a group of nines or a sequence. If it was a sequence, you would have to choose whether the sequence was 7-8-9, 8-9-10 or 9-10-J. On the other hand, if it was a group, you would not need to specify the suits represented by the jokers. Any player could subsequently lay off a different nine, completing a group of four nines.

Note that a joker does have to represent some specific card. It is therefore not possible to meld a group of (for example) four kings and a joker, because there is no fifth king that the joker could represent. Even if you are playing with two packs, it is a rule that the cards of a group must all be of different suits, so there is no fifth king that can legally be included in the meld.

Back on topic, as hard as he makes it in this thread to defend the man, Izzy's choice of relic is his own to make as he is funding his own item, and has been for a damn long time. Being familiar with his dynamis linkshell, all members fund their relics on their own accord, rather than it being a linkshell effort. Inefficient? Yes, but considering the nature of the shell such a method is absolutely necessary to sustain member interest, versus all the in-house works that other servers offer. If that is the playstyle he prefers, and he can still get the job done then why question it? It's not like 99.8% of the people here will have their Einherjar performance effected because he went Mjoll.
