Interesting video and problematic situation, though, I don't think the flashes of pictures were necessary.
The wiki also leaves out the part where a black student was hospitalized by 10 white students, and the white guy that was beat up by the 6 claimed to be one of those guys in front of them while screaming racial remarks. He deserved to get his ass beat.Originally Posted by Charla
"Deserving to get his ass beat" holds 0 water in court. Using racial slurs are fucked up, but are not against the law. The video makes the case appear very fucked up, but I also am very suspicious like Tracien; I assume there is a portion of this being unreported.Originally Posted by MF Perm

No, because you're a moron.

ok sir, ill think just like you so you will like me. I say what I said, I'm a moron, Tricien says the same thing, he is intuitive. OK THAT MAKES SENSEOriginally Posted by Shuemue

Lots of fucked up stuff in that video but I too believe that it's easy to get caught up in the sensationalism of the proffered injustice. It's more than likely that there is more to the story.
This is far from fair, even if we don't know both sides of the story. It's so sad to see racism still going strong after all these years.![]()

I don't understand the guy's point about the Duke lacrosse case and why it received so much coverage. Of course it's going to get media attention when you have a high profile lacrosse team from a high profile school and Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson go down there. I thought that was a stupid point he was trying to make in and otherwise decent video.
And LOL @ the camera changing angles and locations where this guy was but he was still talking in the same sentence and mouthing the words. Completely stupid and unnecessary. He could have just dubbed his voice over the video instead of saying half a sentence in front of a store and then finishing it at a completely different time and location. What effect was he trying to achieve?

I guess, but don't you think it's a pretty big deal with a prosecutor, someone who we are supposed to trust to follow the law and act in our best interests, bends it to further his own political agenda?Originally Posted by MF Perm
In the case of the Jena 6, I don't think they are trying to further themselves politically. They're just racist fucks. But I agree with the cause. Normally I dislike Sharpton/Jackson very much, but maybe they should get involved in this one. Or have they already?
Yeah I agree, but I guess the hard truth about making the comparison is in this culture you sometimes need a little sensationalism to ignite people. It's sad and pathetic and I know it's not the case with everyone, but it sure is with the majority.Originally Posted by Norelco
And Al Sharpton really needs to apologize to those lacrosse players before he gets involved in any more race bashing / defending. I mean hopefully their involvement will shed more light on it for the boys sake, but that guy paints every issue into a black and white case.
Hmmm, Al Sharpton, and Rev. Jackson. Hey Ryko, since i think we're both somewhat alike, care to say what we think about Sharpton and Jackson?
The race card also serves double-duty as a meal ticket?
